4 Restaurants That Give Free Dishes When You Dine In A Group With One Maybank Cardmember

Restaurants giving free dishes for Maybank Cardmembers

It’s human nature to love anything that comes for free. Why else do we constantly join competitions on Instagram, or tune into radio programmes to win ourselves some freebies? If you’re one who finds pleasure in free food, you will be psyched to know that four popular restaurants in Singapore will be doling out exclusive complimentary dishes for Maybank Cardmembers until 30 November 2018! From mouthwatering maki to strips of wagyu and Iberico pork, find out how to score these free dishes when you pay with your Maybank Credit or Debit Card.

1. Flaming Don

Flaming Don is best known for their charcoal-grilled meat donburi, and they are now planning to expand their menu to include sushi! Maybank Cardmembers will have the opportunity to taste some of these new menu items, as the restaurant will be serving them for free when you order a minimum of four mains on your Maybank Credit or Debit Card.

This deal is really worth it, as you are served a complimentary maki platter comprising 12 pieces of sushi, namely Aburi Salmon Maki, Tempura Maki, and Aburi Unagi Maki. The former features fresh salmon drizzled with mentaiko sauce, before being torched and topped with tobiko. Delivering a nice crunch was the Tempura Maki, which was also heavily peppered with fish roe. Doused in tare, the Aburi Unagi had a nice smoky aroma.

You don’t have to spend a bomb too, as a bowl of their Miso Buta Yaki Don and Chicken Curry Don will only set you back $9.90+. However, if you really want to treat yourself, order their Signature Flaming Don ($17.90+) comprising cubes of Australian tenderloin, garlic chips, and an onsen egg.

If beef is not your choice protein, the Chicken Combo Don ($12.90+) might suit you better; it comes with two mid-wing teriyaki chicken, a sumibiyaki chicken thigh and a yakitori chicken skewer. Pulling the entire dish together is the topping of an onsen egg.

The complimentary maki platter is available all day every day up until 30 November 2018.

2. Suki-Ya

Bond with your friends over a comforting bowl of Japanese hotpot at Suki-Ya. Priced at $18.90++ during lunch and $24.90++ for dinner, with an additional $3++ every Friday to Sunday, the shabu-shabu buffet is extremely value for money.

While the spread already consists of free-flowing beef, pork and chicken, along with an array of vegetables, carbs, and fish balls, Maybank Cardmembers dining in a group of five adults will be treated to one complimentary premium meat platter as well!

Take delight in strips of wagyu beef and Iberico pork, as well as scallops, mussels and salmon. The scallops and mussels brought our shabu-shabu experience to a whole new level, as they imparted an oceanic tang to our Butaniku pork broth.

Other broths include the classic Shabu-Shabu made from simmered kept and kombu stock, as well as our favourite, Kimuchi. A blend of kimuchi and simmered vegetables, this vibrant red broth packs a whole lot of heat.

The complimentary platter is available at all eight Suki-Ya outlets, and will run daily from now until 30 November 2018, between 12pm and 4pm. For hungry souls visiting the Marina Square and I12Katong outlets (the latter reopens in mid-October), do note that the promotion is only valid from 12pm to 3pm.

3. Eat at Taipei

Eat at Taipei is a choice spot to go if you’re hankering for legit Taiwanese grub. The last time I was there, I fell in love with their wide selection of street snacks. And now Maybank Cardmembers dining here can look forward to a complimentary street snack platter when they order a minimum of four mains from the Taiwanese Favourites and Taiwan Staples menu sections.

The platter is a real steal, and comes loaded with my favourite eats, including their Crispy Pork Intestines in Fermented Bean Paste, which comes with a side of tart chilli. Get your fingers dirty as you sink your teeth into their Crispy Chicken Wings in Fermented Bean Paste. Another addictively delicious snack on the platter is their Rock Salt Crispy Chicken.

It helps that their mains are affordable too. A dish that impressed us was their Braised Pork Belly and Preserved Vegetables Noodles ($10.90++). Here, a bowl of springy yellow noodles came topped with luscious chunks of pork belly marinated in a moreish sauce.

Perfect on a rainy day is their Oyster and Pork Intestine Mee Sua ($9.90++). Those who can’t live without rice can go for their San Bei Chicken Rice ($9.90++), featuring juicy pieces of chicken coated in a treacly sauce.

Come by anytime, as this deal is available all day err’ day from now until 30 November 2018.

4. Siam Kitchen

Hit up halal-certified Thai restaurant Siam Kitchen for a sumptuous meal that won’t break the bank. It gets better for Maybank Cardmembers dining in a group; you can save on appetisers, as a complimentary appetiser platter will be served with a minimum order of four mains!

Comprising Deep-Fried Spring Rolls, Fish Cakes, Prawn Cakes and Chicken Satay, the platter is certain to whet your appetite. I especially loved the prawn cakes, which came skewered with lemongrass stalks, giving each a floral aroma. The succulent satay was a hot favourite too, with its tender marinated meat and accompanying peanut sauce.

As for the mains, you can expect pocket-easy prices. A classic dish done well is their Seafood Phad Thai ($12.90++ for small, $16.90++ for medium). Presenting a smorgasbord of flavours, the noodle dish was sweet, savoury, sour and spicy, and featured squid, pieces of fried fish, and prawns.

Those with a penchant for spice won’t regret ordering the Red Tom Yum Noodles with Seafood ($13.90++, $15.90++). The fiery red broth came filled with glass noodles and oceanic goodies. And as we slurped up the noodles, our eyes began to tear while our throat burned from the spicy base – definitely not for the spice adverse.

Swing by between now and 30 November 2018 to score the complimentary platter!
