G Izakaya Has 1-For-1 Omakase, Get 8 Courses Under $100 Per Person

G Izakaya has 1-for-1 omakase until October 2023

Omakase lovers, you won’t want to miss out on this promotion. G Izakaya, a hidden Japanese restaurant at Golden Mile Tower, is offering a 1-for-1 deal on their eight-course omakase, now priced at $168++ for two persons.

The omakase is available every day for lunch and dinner, and comes with one glass of sparkling sake or house-pour sake per person, or two bottled beers. Do note that the sake is non-refillable.

G Izakaya has a quiet atmosphere, with approximately 10 seats at the counter for a cosy, personalised dining experience. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into an izakaya bar in Japan, as the restaurant is decked out in Japanese fabric dividers, and red paper lanterns.

We kicked off our lunch omakase with two appetisers: Amela Tomato with ume jelly, and a comforting bowl of Crabmeat Chawanmushi. The latter was topped with uni for a creamy mouthfeel.

Our next plate was the Japanese Chi Ayu With Pumpkin Ball. This aesthetically pleasing dish was plated to resemble a koi fish painting. It features two pieces of Japanese sweet fish cooked tempura style, served alongside a crispy pumpkin croquette and citrusy ponzu sauce.

Next, we enjoyed some succulent Irish Oysters, as well as six different kinds of sushi: red sea bream, flatfish, Japanese warm water fish, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and tuna belly.

The highlight of our meal was the Uni and Ikura Handroll, which saw a thicc handroll stuffed with buttery uni and crowned with ikura. It was also sprinkled with gold dust for a shimmery effect.

Our omakase experience ended off with Alajiro—fish soup of the day—and a dessert: house-made warabi mochi with sweet Shizuoka melon.

The special 1-for-1 promotion is available from now until 31 October 2023, and we’ve been informed that weekend reservations have been fully booked till August. If you don’t want to miss out on this deal, be sure to RSVP, stat!
