Generation Coffee Opens In Tanjong Pagar With Affordable Cafe-Style Kopi Under $5

Generation Coffee opens at Tanjong Pagar Plaza with affordable lattes

If you’ve been following my quest to find the best kopi in Singapore, you’d have heard of Generation Coffee, a humble hawker stall that came in third on the list. The popular coffee stall, which has outlets at 216 Bedok Food Centre and Tekka Centre, has just opened another branch at Tanjong Pagar Plaza Market & Food Centre!

At this new CBD stall, prices start at just $1.70 for a cup of hot Kopi O or Teh O.

If you prefer ang moh-style coffee, it’s $2.80 for an Espresso, $3.30 for a Long Black, and $3.80 for a Flat White. Those who like their coffee cold can get an Iced Latte at just $4.30—significantly cheaper than most cafes out there. There’s also an option to swap out dairy for oat milk (+$1) or add an extra shot (+$1)!

Whether you pick traditional kopi or cafe-style coffee, each cup is prepared with freshly pulled espresso. When we tried their Kopi O during our best kopi shoot in 2022, we were impressed that it came with a beautiful layer of crema and was complex in flavour.

Generation Coffee also has lesser-seen options such as Dirty Matcha ($4.20 for hot, $4.70 for iced), where matcha meets strong espresso, tempered with creamy milk. There’s even a Thai Milk Tea (from $2) if you’re trying to cut down on coffee!

If Tanjong Pagar Plaza isn’t near you, Generation Coffee has another CBD outlet at Hong Lim Market.

Otherwise, while you’re there, check out our Rolina Traditional Hainanese Curry Puffs review. The stall sells handmade curry puffs and glutinous rice in the same food centre. Otherwise, read our guide to unique kopi stalls in Singapore if you’re looking for more interesting coffee options!
