Japan’s most famous takoyaki chain Gindaco has been slowly making a comeback since their revival in Singapore, with the opening of their first outlet in JCube.Catering to fans from another part of the island, they celebrated the opening of their second outlet on 1st April 2021 at ION Orchard.

Gindaco is known for their Japanese street snacks, in particular, their Takoyaki that comes in three different iterations: Original ($6), Cheese Mentaiko ($7.50), and Teritama ($7.50)

Their original flavour is covered with mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and aonori seasoning. For an added savoury oomph, their Cheese Mentaiko is served with mozzarella cheese, parsley, and parmesan cheese. Teritama, which is portmanteau for teriyaki and tamago, is a not so regular sweet-savoury combination on their takoyaki.

If you need more than a quick snack, load up on carbs with their Yakisoba ($7), traditional Japanese stir-fry noodles that come with options of Chicken or Pork. For the best of all they offer, they have Tako Oko Soba Set 6 pieces ($13.50), which comes with their popular takoyaki, soba and okonomiyaki, a Japanese savoury pancake.

For those uninitiated to Gindaco, they have over 300 outlets in Japan alone and they are often touted as Japan’s number one takoyaki stall. You can find them at every corner of the streets of Japan. Their history in Singapore was a rocky one, where they initially had outlets spanning across the island with stalls at ION Orchard, Raffles City, Jurong Point, and Bedok Point. Gindaco made a comeback in 2019 with their outlet in JCube and are steadily finding their feet with this ION Orchard opening.
