Durian buffet at Goodwood Park Hotel

Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Dessert Buffet is the highlight of the year for some of us, and it’s back again this 17 October to 15 November 2020 at the hotel’s Coffee Lounge!

Fans of the thorny King of Fruits will be pleased to know that there are a total of nine different durian-based treats, made either with premium Mao Shan Wang durians, or the classic D24 variant.

At $58.80++ a person, this buffet feels steep, but when you think of the unlimited servings of Mao Shan Wang Crepes, Mousse Cakes, Swiss Rolls and Mini Éclairs you can feast on in the luxurious settings of Goodwood Park Hotel, it’s worth it.

Besides these MSW delights, highlights from the D24 spread include a free flow of D24 pudding that’s said to be full of creamy durian pulp, D24 puffs, and D24 Coffee Cake that were a hit at the Durian Fiesta earlier this year.

The only item that is limited is the D24 Ice Cream, which each diner is only entitled to one serving.

Just in case you feel that you’d like an assortment of other desserts with the durian, the buffet also features other signature desserts such as a Mango Pudding with Crème Chantilly and Fresh Mango and Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce.

You could also pair the Durian Dessert Buffet, available during lunch from 12pm to 2:30pm and dinner from 6pm to 10:30pm, with any of the Coffee Lounge’s signature dining experiences as follows:

  • Top-up of Durian Dessert Buffet with any à la carte main course order: $48.80++ per person
  • Taiwan Porridge À La Carte Buffet inclusive of Durian Dessert Buffet: $72++ per adult, $43.20++ per child
  • 3-course Design Your Own Local Degustation Menu, inclusive of Durian Dessert Buffet: $62++ per person
  • 4-course Design Your Own Local Degustation Menu, inclusive of Durian Dessert Buffet: $66++ per person

To give you an idea of the value you’re getting in this buffet, each Mao Shan Wang Crepe retails for $20 nett at The Deli, and the Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cake is sold at $72 nett for a 500g cake, while the D24 Durian Puffs are available at $28 nett for a box of six. Takeaways are available daily from 17 October to 30 November.

We’ve also put together a list of buffets with unlimited steak, and Wagyu More in Bugis has a free-flow shabu shabu buffet! But since you’re in the Orchard area, check out Tempura Tendon Tenya, the newest tendon place in town.
