Hotpot lovers can soon look forward to satisfying their cravings at Haidilao’s upcoming outlet at Marina Bay Sands (MBS). The hotpot chain is the latest in Chinese dining options at the integrated resort, joining stalwarts Tim Ho Wan and Din Tai Fung at the Shoppes at MBS. The outlet will be located at Basement 2 of the mall.
There is no current update on the scheduled opening of this outlet, the brand’s 13th in Singapore, but we can definitely look forward to their signature touches of service, free drinks and tidbits while waiting for a table once the restaurant opens.
Come armed with our hacks so that you can maximise the wait, although we are hoping that with so many outlets and a wealth of equally-good hotpot alternatives on the market, Haidilao’s fans may spread themselves out so everyone gets a slightly shorter queue.
We expect that the upcoming outlet will feature the same extensive menu, variety of soup bases and noodle shows that are a spectacle to behold. Perhaps best known for their Tomato Soup Hot Pot and Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot, Haidilao is also popular for its Bai-Yu Hot Pot — a less cloying version of the collagen soup at competitor Beauty in the Pot.
Let’s not forget the neon signboards and birthday songs that tell the whole world that you’re celebrating your birthday. There’s no better way to embarrass your friend than with an extravaganza like this.
You can’t eat at Haidilao without going for their free-flow desserts. We particularly love the Chilled Beancurd Dessert. There’s also losing your mind over the array of sauces and condiments available for dipping. Of course, with the current global climate, there are safety precautions in place to ensure that all diners enjoy a safe environment for their hotpot meal.Â
In the spirit of sharing more cost-cutting tips, we were once told by a friendly waitress that a party of two diners at Haidilao should request for a pot of four soups, but only order two soup bases. The other two sections of the pot would be filled with plain water, which you can customise on your own with the sauces and fresh ingredients.
Meanwhile, check out our tips for a slightly less sinful meal at Haidilao, or skip the queues and order in your favourite hotpot from our list of hotpot restaurants offering delivery!
