Hello Arigato Everton Park Review: $13+ Tamago Sando, Matcha Cloud And More

Hello Arigato is a popular brunch cafe in Everton Park

Since we first checked out Hello Arigato when they opened in Upper Thomson, this popular sando cafe has expanded to five more outlets across the island, including Joo Chiat and Tiong Bahru. For this review, we visited the Everton Park outlet to see if it’s still living up to the hype!

Food at Hello Arigato Everton Park

When we first visited Hello Arigato in 2023, their lineup of fresh, in-house-baked doughnuts left a lasting impression. Sadly, those treats are no longer on the menu.

Now, the cafe offers a smaller food selection, including breakfast plates and shokupan burgers served daily until 11am, alongside sandwiches, pastas, and sides.

We ordered a few of the cafe’s most popular items according to Google reviews, starting with the iconic Tamago Sando ($13+). Interestingly, when we first sampled it back in 2023, it was priced a dollar higher at $14+.

This IG-worthy sandwich features eggs prepared in three ways. It begins with a marinated Ajitama egg, complete with a jammy orange yolk, resting on a bed of egg mayonnaise enhanced with diced tamagoyaki.

The thick shokupan toast is fluffy, milky, and lightly sweet, though it’s now outsourced rather than baked in-house like it was in 2013. Still, this sando made for a solid start to our meal.

Next up is the Whisky BBQ Sando ($18+), an outlet-exclusive creation. The sandwich features freshly breaded chicken katsu smothered in Suntory Whisky BBQ sauce, finished with melted cheddar and apple slaw, all nestled between the same fluffy shokupan slices.

The combination of textures and flavours works beautifully—the crispy breaded crust gives way to tender chicken, the sweet and smoky whisky BBQ sauce adds depth, and the crunchy, refreshing slaw cuts through the richness.

You’ve got to dig in while it’s fresh and hot to enjoy the sandwich at its best. We waited a little too long, and it started to get soggy—not the most ideal.

Another outlet-exclusive is the Cauliflower Fritters ($10+), featuring crispy fried florets coated in a garlic-soy glaze and finished with sour cream dressing, toasted sesame seeds, Japanese spiced pepper, and chopped scallions.

The tempura batter stayed light and crunchy, giving way to tender cauliflower inside. Paired with the sweet glaze and creamy sour cream, it made for a perfect shareable side.

FYI: The menu also features two pastas—Kinoko Pasta ($18+) and Mentaiko Pasta ($22+)—which we didn’t try during our visit.

Surprisingly, the matcha drinks at Hello Arigato are well-priced for a cafe, starting at just $5.50+ for a Coco Matcha Cloud. We went for the Strawberry Matcha Cloud ($6.50+), a crowd favourite made with strawberry syrup and fresh milk, topped with thick Uji matcha cold foam. The beverage was milkier and sweeter than I personally prefer, but it’s perfect for anyone who finds straight-up matcha a bit too bitter.

I favoured the hot White Coffee ($5.50+), a bold latte made with Hello Arigato’s proprietary beans, which are also available for purchase at the cafe. I had nothing to complain here—the balance of silky, well-frothed milk to espresso was just right.

Ambience at Hello Arigato Everton Park

Hello Arigato at Everton Park has a limited dine-in space, and a small number of low seats by the entrance. Done up in warm lights and wooden finishings, it’s like walking into someone’s home. The bakery-cafe is an 11-minute walk from Exit H of Outram Park MRT Station—it’s a much further walk if you use any of the other exits.

Hello Artigato Everton Park — Eatbook review

While there were a few misses, the food at Hello Arigato was overall delicious. The egg sando was a standout, and the coffee exceeded my expectations. I can’t speak for the other outlets, but the Everton Park location is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
