Homegrown food manufacturer Hoshay has collaborated with various dining establishments across the island, bringing to you delicious plant-based and meat-free delights packed with plant protein. We’ve curated a list of 10 food places to head to!
You don’t have to miss out on your ramen fix even if you’re going meat-free. Ramen restaurant Tonichi Tsukemen has a lineup of vegetarian-friendly mains and sides that feature Hoshay’s range of products. Enjoy the Veggie Tsukemen with Plant-based Unagi (from $15.50++): cold handmade noodles topped with tamago and a slab of teriyaki-glazed ‘unagi’ that’s charred like the real deal. This hearty dish also comes with a side of broth that’s thick and flavourful. Alternatively, go for the Plant-based Unagi Don ($10.90++) if you prefer rice.
For a delicious side worth sharing, order the Plant-based Chicken Kaarage (from $10.95++). This crispy fried ‘chicken’ is made of tofu skin , and seasoned with a secret blend of herbs and spices.

Beach goers can also try the plant-based unagi at Ola Beach Club; there’s a Unagi Poke Bowl ($20++) that stars the same ‘unagi’, made of textured vegetable protein, glazed with a sweet teriyaki sauce, and topped with seaweed. If pasta is your go-to, try the Tomato Meatball Pasta ($15++), a kid-friendly dish comprising spaghetti, chunky mushroom balls, and a house-made tomato-based sauce with garlic and herbs.
There’s also Plant-Based Fried Chicken ($15++) paired with a creamy mustard mayo sauce for dipping.

Hinode Sake Bar and Grill is a casual Japanese bar in Chinatown well-loved for its delicious yet affordable maki platters, yakitori items, and hearty dons. The resto has also recently introduced a few plant-based dishes on the menu, including the soy-based Hoshay Crispy Fried Chicken ($7.90+) and Plant-based Teriyaki Unagi ($9.80+), perfect for sharing if you’re visiting with vegan friends.
For something more substantial, get the Unagi Don ($10.80+), which features short-grain rice paired with Hoshay’s signature plant-based unagi: a tofu-and-seaweed slab doused in a sweet teriyaki glaze, topped with sesame seeds.

Healthy meal prep service Fitthree has added an all-new Teriyaki Mushroom Patty ($13.40) to their menu, so subscribers can look forward to trying out this plant-based item. It features a thick mushroom-based patty in a teriyaki sauce, seaweed strips, and chopped spring onions to cut through the ‘meaty’ flavour. Accompanied with rice, mixed veggies, shiitake mushrooms, and edamame with corn, this meal also comes with a sous vide egg and pickled ginger on the side.

Easties can visit Q-WA Bar & Yakitori, a cosy izakaya-themed gastrobar perfect for small get-togethers. Here you’ll find the same plant-based Crispy Fried Chicken ($12.90++) and Teriyaki Unagi ($12.90++) from Hoshay. The latter is soft and juicy with a layer of seaweed for added umami. Each side is complete with a side salad to cut through the richness.

Dine in the gardens at Canopy, an all-day dining restaurant nestled in Bishan Park. Surrounded by lush greenery, the breezy restaurant has both indoor seating and a spacious alfresco area that’s also pet-friendly. Start with the Hoshay Crispy Fried Chicken ($15++): battered soy-based bites perfect for sharing. Alternatively, go for the Hoshay Tomato Mushroom Meatballs ($15++), served with a tangy tomato-based sauce.

Vegans and vegetarians have another dining option to add on to their list: The Plant Food at Thomson V Two, which is a convenient three-minute walk from Upper Thomson MRT Station. This cosy and casual vegetarian cafe serves hearty meat-free dishes in generous portions, including the newly added Plant-based Unagi Don ($12.90): Hoshay charred unagi with edamame, purple cabbage, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes, served on a bed of brown rice.
Another option is the Plant-Based Hamburg Steak ($12.90), which spotlights a mushroom patty with house-made tonkatsu sauce atop a bed of brown rice, accompanied by tender Japanese pumpkin chunks, cherry tomato, and shredded cabbage in an addictive wafu dressing.
