10 1-for-1 Hotel Buffets To Enter A Joint Food Coma With Your Squad

1-for-1 hotel buffets with your partners-in-crime

As much as I love my main squad, there’s just one thing about them that I need to get off my chest. We take an average of half an hour to decide on what cuisine to eat, and then another torturous 20 minutes deciding on where. The foodie in me dies a little each time someone suggests a lunch date, because I can already imagine how long the wait will be till I can even see the food.

This year, I’ve upped my game with UOB YOLO, which offers all Cardmembers a variety of food deals, including 1-for-1 hotel buffets! Nobody in my clique has the right to whine or complain anymore, ‘cause these buffets offer various cuisines all under one roof. Plus, buffet-hopping can now finally be a thing!

1. Ellenborough Market Café, Swissôtel Merchant Court

It would be a pity to leave Ellenborough Market Café without snapping an #OOTD within their picturesque space – think high ceilings, Peranakan tiles, and pastel-coloured walls. While their buffet lunch (U.P. $52++) offer allows you and your gang to chomp down on a variety of Indian, Chinese, and Japanese dishes, their specialty lies in their Peranakan options. A few that caught my fancy include the fish head curry fish, sambal eggplant salad, and durian pengat.

Address: 20 Merchant Road, Singapore 058281
1-for-1 buffet hours: Mon-Sat 12pm to 2:30pm
Offer is valid until 30 June 2017
Tel: 6239 1847 / 6239 1848

2. Atrium Restaurant, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

Atrium Restaurant exudes a chic vibe with wooden tables and colourful chairs. Only available till the end of June, their Lobster & BBQ Extravaganza (U.P. $90++ from Sun-Thur, $100++ from Fri-Sat) makes for an incredibly sumptuous dinner for seafood lovers. Savour fresh sashimi, oysters, and lobsters stuffed with roe in any way you desire – barbequed, grilled, or stir-fried. I like my seafood cooked, so Lobster Bisque and Wok-fried Salted Egg Lobster are my top picks. Be sure to help yourself to a scoop – or more – of gelato from their brand new Gelato Bar as well! You can also redeem the 1-for-1 promotion at their buffet lunch (U.P. $58++) and weekend high tea buffet (U.P. $60++).

3. AquaMarine, Marina Mandarin Singapore, by Meritus

The halal-certified AquaMarine boasts a vast interior with open kitchens that show their chefs in action. The buffet area may be huge, but you don’t need a map; simply head straight to the seafood section during their buffet lunch (U.P. $60++) and help yourself to heaps of fresh sashimi, crabs, mussels, and prawns. If you’re not a fan of raw food, fret not for they also offer cooked seafood dishes, with my favourite being the classic chilli crab.

1-for-1 buffet hours: Mon-Fri 12pm to 2:30pm

4. Café Mosaic, Carlton Hotel

With a buffet spread that changes daily, Café Mosaic will surprise you with new dishes even if you visit them on consecutive days. Their buffet dinner (U.P. $88++) has a wide array of dishes from various cuisines. Head down to their live cooking stations that feature mainly Singaporean dishes such as fried carrot cake and laksa, or their seafood bar that offers freshly shucked oysters. If you have a sweet tooth, their wide range of desserts are bound to please, with two of my favourites being their durian cake and chocolate mousse.

7. Food Capital, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore

Food Capital offers interactive live stations for most of their dishes, and their open kitchen concept allows you to watch the chefs in action, as they prepare small batches of food a la minute. My friends always rave about the fresh seafood served during their buffet lunch ($58++ from Sun-Fri, $$66.60++ on Sat), which includes Canadian oysters and New Zealand snow crab leg. Give their Asian dishes a go as well, especially their tempura, tandoori chicken and chicken satay. Zi char lovers should fill up on their chilli crab with mantou. The 1-for-1 offer can also be redeemed at their buffet dinner (U.P. $74++ from Mon-Thur, $79++ from Fri-Sun).
