Liang Court has always been my number one go-to for Japanese food, and I admit I have never ventured out of the basement and ground levels, where the ramen and udon shops are. It is only recently that I realised I have been missing out on the lunch and dinner buffets available at The Square, which is on the seventh floor of the hotel right beside it. Among the various cuisines served are seafood dishes such as seafood salad, salted egg prawns, and snapper with caper sauce. Of course, there is also an array of raw seafood including clams, mussels, and sashimi.

With a more casual and laid-back atmosphere compared to many other buffet restaurants, J65 is a restaurant in Hotel Jen Tanglin that showcases various cuisines through themed buffet dinners. For the lunch buffets that are available throughout the week, you can enjoy highlights like Boston crabs, unagi sushi, and seafood paella. If you are up for something more unique, make a reservation for one of their themed buffet dinners, such as Tuesday Crab Galore, Wednesday and Thursday Lobster Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Friday to Sunday Seafood Mania.

Although their durian high tea buffet has ended, Marriott Cafe still has many reasons for us to visit the restaurant with their tantalising breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner buffets. On top of typical buffet dishes, the restaurant also has a seafood counter serving freshly shucked oysters, a salmon station with smoked and gravlax salmon, as well as a maki and sashimi corner. Live cooking corners are also stationed around, serving Asian-European food and the all-time favourite, chilli crab.

Oasis is a poolside restaurant that has an extensive selection of fresh seafood spreads, as well as an outdoor charcoal-fired grill that the chefs use to grill seafood on the spot. For those looking to wind down after a day’s work, you can also look forward to free-flow beers, wines, and margarita drinks! The only downside is that the buffet is only available on Fridays and Saturdays, but the same dishes can be found on their a la carte menu on other days.

Found along the Singapore River, Food Capital is tucked in Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Besides the scenic view, the restaurant also impresses with their wide selection of food. Next to the ice beds of cold crustacean choices, there is a corner with sashimi, three different kinds of smoked salmon, and tempura prawns. Those who prefer hot dishes can indulge in their grilled seafood selections including grilled octopus and tiger prawns. Nestled in the middle of Orchard, Window On The Park is located on the second level of Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre. For the usual lunch and dinner buffets, you can help yourself to their wide array of fresh seafood such as poached prawns and sashimi slices. From now till 30 September 2017, the restaurant offers Seafood Curry Night on weekdays and Lobster Weekend Buffet Dinner on weekends. Those who enjoy spicy dishes will probably prefer the former, which specialises in dishes such as red curry mussels and fish head curry. Asian Market Cafe is a halal-certified buffet restaurant that serves Asian cuisine, with a focus on Chinese, Indian and Japanese food. While the lunch and dinner menus differ slightly, most of the seafood served such as mussels, steamed prawn, and sashimi are available throughout the day. For the dinner buffet, you can expect even more, including grilled squid and octopus. Their international corner also offers chilli crab with mantou and Teochew steamed fish.

10. The Buffet, M Hotel

The Buffet at M Hotel serves both Asian and Western dishes at their buffet lunch. Come evening time, however, the restaurant draws crowds with its Steamboat Buffet Dinner, with soup bases such as laksa broth, herbal soup, and the chef’s monthly speciality soup. In addition to their spread of seafood that includes white pomfret, scallops, and crabs, the restaurant also has a live station serving seafood dishes like herbal prawn. Depending on your luck, you may also get your hands on some chilli crabs with mantou!
