If you’ve visited CHIJMES lately, you may have noticed that Hvala is no longer there. The tea specialty cafe has recently moved its flagship to Odeon 333, an office tower along North Bridge Road!

The new cafe looks to be more spacious than its previous CHIJMES flagship. Here, you get to choose from a mix of communal tables and floor seats.

New on the menu is the Matcha Kaya Toast ($9.90++), where brioche toast is paired with two slabs of butter and their signature matcha-infused kaya, then paired with soft-boiled eggs.

For something savoury, consider their range of chazuke: traditional Japanese rice dish served with matcha broth. Choose from flavours such as Aburi Salmon Ikura Ebi Scallops ($29.90++), Grilled Teriyaki Chicken ($18.90++), and Mushroom Tofu ($16.90++). Each meal includes Hvala’s house-made soup, made with premium Yuki matcha powder, topped with ume pickles and seaweed.
If you’re here for teatime, you won’t go wrong with their signature Matcha Latte, which lets you pick from different tiers of matcha. The Tsuki Matcha ($6.90++) is popular for its bright flavour, or you can splurge on ceremonial-grade options such as Hana Matcha ($12.90++) and Kaze Matcha ($10.90++).
Don’t miss out on their array of cakes too, with delicious picks such as the limited-edition Sakura ($12.90++), where delicate layers of sakura mousse, sakura jelly, and matcha sponge are complemented by raspberry confit. The Yuzu Cake ($9.50++) is another excellent pick if you want something lighter!
Hvala Odeon 333 is a six-minute walk from City Hall or Esplanade MRT Station.
