Apart from being a furniture store, IKEA is a place that stored a lot of my fonder memories growing up, with their affordable food a highlight every visit. Recently, IKEA has once again expanded its meal options, with new additions like their Mala Crayfish and Swedish Meatballs In Cup, together with other seasonal specials, available while stocks last, and some for a limited time only.

Seafood lovers, feast on their IKEA Mala Crayfish ($11). Sold in plates of six, the crayfish is fresh and juicy, while being firm in texture.Â
Their numbing mala sauce adds savouriness to the sweeter crayfish meat, giving it an extra kick as well. This dish will be made available from 8 February to 13 February, at both their Alexandra and Tampines outlets.

Their Swedish Meatballs In Cup ($5) is a solid snack choice, reminiscent of what carnival food used to be like. Their meatballs are light yet tasty, enhanced when dipped in their creamy sauce and sugary lingonberry jam.Â
Ideal for those who don’t like sitting still, this gives you the option to dabao their signature meatballs and eat as you shop for furniture. Unfortunately, the cup meatballs are only available at their Tampines branch, while stocks last.

Seasonal special menu items are also available, such as Chee Cheong Fun With Mushroom And Minced Chicken ($3.50) in light of Chinese New Year, only for breakfast at their Alexandra outlet from 1 February to 15 February.Â

Also, they have a new 12 Piece Plant Balls With Pasta And Truffle Flavoured Mushroom Sauce ($9), specially for Valentine’s Day, from 14 February to 21 February at all branches, if that is up your alley.
