Jalan Jalan Makan Makan Is A Halal Food Festival With Over 180 Stalls From 14 to 16 December

Jalan Jalan Makan Makan 2018 at Marina Bay Sands

Joining the ranks of extravagant EOY pop-ups is Jalan Jalan Makan Makan. Happening from 14th to 16th December 2018 at Marina Bay Sands Hall A, the free festival will feature over 180 halal food stalls!

Such an embarrassment of riches is bound to confuse anyone planning to navigate through the cornucopia of food. Thankfully, we’ve sifted out some stalls to look forward to at this event.

1. Home of Sushi

It’s always a great idea to have a portable-yet-filling dish to nom on as you brave festival crowds. That’s why Home of Sushi’s range of sushi, tempura and gunkan will do the trick in keeping your hunger at bay as you stall-hop.

If previous events are anything to go by, these morsels of delight to go for 3 boxes at $10.

2. HELLOCS & CO.

If you’re looking to go all-out on carbolicious goodness, be sure to give HELLOCS & CO. a try. The stall will be selling a slew of food-coma-inducing munchies like burgers, grilled chicken and fries.

Their Melted Cheese Fries, in particular, is bound to be a treat as you’re free to choose delicious sauces like black pepper, rendang and salted egg.

3. Chu’it

Thankfully, the event will be held in a closed, air-conditioned space. But if you’re still up for an icy cold treat, you can’t go wrong with Chu’it’s ice-cream that’s sprinkled with all sorts of sweet toppings that’s guaranteed to give a sugar rush.

4. Cake Love

We have Cake Love to thank for making Dutch baby pancakes a staple at pasar malams. These decadent desserts will be available in an assortment of flavours like smores, Nutella, cookies & cream, and red velvet.

5. Street Submarine

We loved Street Submarine’s food back when we first tried it. Although I wouldn’t get my hopes up on them selling the amazing ice kepal here, you can still expect to indulge in other sinful bites.

These include their Chicken Satay Fries ($5.50); a bed of fries with chicken chunks, covered in peanut sauce and diced cucumbers, and the Chili Rendang Sub ($8) which is served with a generous amount of rendang sauce.

Eat and mingle with celebrities at Jalan Jalan Makan Makan

You don’t have to wait for Geylang Bazaar to enjoy a wealth of halal street food in one place. Simply head to Marina Bay Sands Hall A between 14th and 16th December 2018 to enjoy over 180 stalls.

As you munch on the likes of sweet Dutch baby pancakes or heavenly cheese fries, be sure to stick around for performances by local and international celebs like Awie and Liza Hanim.

Date: 14th to 16th December 2018
Time: 10am to 10pm
