Patrons of ABC Brickworks looking to enjoy a sweet treat will often zoom to Jin Jin Hot Cold Dessert, a famous stall known best for their Gangster Ice Kacang and Power Chendol desserts.

The stall is currently run by owners Calvin and Ewan, both of whom do not have an F&B background. They bought over Jin Jin from the former owners, but introduced a twist to the menu here. While the desserts available are traditional by nature, the duo have managed to offer modern twists that appeal to patrons both young and old.

The menu is obviously split into hot and cold desserts, totalling 36 items. On the cold front, there are a number of shaved ice desserts, including their popular Durian Mango Ice ($3.50) AKA Gangster Ice, which crosses durian ice cream with thick chunks of sweet mango and shaved ice.

Also a bestseller is, as mentioned, the Power Chendol ($2.50), where chendol is made with a generous amount of azuki beans, pandan jelly worms, coconut milk, and of course, their signature uber-gooey gula melaka drizzled on a mountain of finely shaved ice.

If you’re team hot desserts, then you’ll be happy to know that Jin Jin has a decent selection for you, including bestsellers such as their Tau Suan, and Gingko Barley.

For those who want something more adventurous, then try Jin Jin’s other shaved ice offerings. These are reminiscent of Japanese kakigori, where plain shaved ice is dressed up with flavoured powders and syrups. Their Mount Fuji ($2.50) is one interesting pick, as it pairs matcha ice with sweet azuki beans.
Prices for their desserts range from $2.50 to $3.50.
