This Hotpot BBQ Buffet Has Free-Flow XLB, Wagyu, Crab And More From $18.80++ Near Bencoolen MRT

LaJiangShan Hotpot has free-flow buffet from $18.80++

Going out for hotpot and BBQ with friends is fun, but those IG reels of solo diners in Japan makes me wonder why we don’t have that concept in Singapore. Just think about how many people would welcome it–the introverts, the germaphobes, those of us who are unfairly roasted for accidentally turning the meat to charcoal. It’s a good thing, then, that I recently came across LaJiangShan Hotpot, a solo BBQ and hotpot buffet destination that is here for us.

From $18.80++, every diner at their store in Parklane Shopping Mall gets their own mini hotpot and grill with free-flow ingredients such as pork belly and king oyster mushroom off the weekday lunch menu. The dinner menu (from $28.80++) is even more extensive, with seafood, Wagyu beef, and a specialty dinner item that changes from day to day.

Whether you’re dining solo or in a large group, everyone gets their own mini hotpot and grill, so don’t worry about that one serial double-dipper in the squad.

For the hotpot, nine soup bases are available, including a mouth-numbing Mala and a hearty Herbal Chicken soup. Add on $2.80 for a single soup base or $4.80 for two, and when your soup runs low they will refill it with more broth instead of hot water.

To enrich your soup, add as much liao as you’d like, especially their large and juicy signature Handmade Meatballs made from pork, mutton, or beef.

Also, if you’re feeling slightly peckish while waiting for your soup to boil, they have hot appetisers available, including unlimited baskets of Xiao Long Bao, deep-fried Mantou, and spicy Pork Belly Rolls

For BBQ, there is a variety of ingredients to choose from, such as marinated shabu shabu meats, king oyster mushroom, and slices of luncheon meat. Dip your grilled meat in your own custom sauce, mixed from the condiments available at their extensive sauce station. There’s your usual tubs of sesame seeds, soya sauce, and vinegar, but also more interesting sauces such as tahini sauce and Thai chili sauce to experiment with.

The dinner buffet menu has over 80 ingredients on offer, including free-flow seafood! Eat your fill of mussels, fresh prawns, and even flower crab doused with the special seafood garlic chilli sauce.

LaJiangShan Hotpot also offers a daily dinner special which is limited to one set per diner. Items include a whole tray of mala grilled fish and sweet slipper lobster tails.

If you’re a student, bring your student card to enjoy a $3 discount on all days. For parents, your kids can dine in from $12.80++ on weekdays for lunch and $18.80++ for dinner, weekends and holidays. Children below the age of four eat for free!
