L’eclair Patisserie Has A Carousel-Inspired Afternoon Tea Near Dhoby Ghaut MRT

L’eclair Patisserie has Merry-Go-Delice high tea in Dhoby Ghaut

If you’re always on the lookout for a good high tea that doesn’t break the bank, you may have come across L’eclair Patisserie, an eclair specialty store and cafe in Dhoby Ghaut. The popular cafe has just rolled out a new Merry-Go-Delice Afternoon Tea that’s inspired by the merry-go-round carousel!

Each high tea set is priced at $78 for two people, which works out to just $39 per person. You’ll get five savoury items and five sweet items: for sweet items, you can get five assorted mini eclairs, with their best-selling flavours such as Pistachio and Strawberries, Salted Caramel, and Ispahan, which combines rose and lychee notes.

For savoury items, you get five pairs of canapes. Choose from their variety of options such as Cheese Puffs, Mini Quiches, and Caviar Blinis, to name a few.

The afternoon tea is served in an uber cute, custom-made merry-go-round stand that spins—great for the ‘gram!

You have to try their Mango Banana eclair, a tropical flavour consisting of luscious mango and banana pastry cream. This fruity delight is said to be creamy and rich, while not being too sweet at the same time.

Besides the sweets, you can look forward to savoury bites including Ikura Vol-Au-Vent: puff pastry filled with a rich cream cheese base and topped with premium ikura.

The Cheese Puff also contains a rich herb and garlic-infused cream cheese within a choux pastry puff. If you prefer something with a stronger flavour, this one’s perfect for you.

Paying homage to the traditional components of afternoon tea, you’re also served two pairs of scones alongside clotted cream.

The cosy cafe is tucked away in Singapore Shopping Centre, a short five-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station Exit A.

Do note that the Merry-Go-Delice Afternoon Tea is available every day at 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 3pm. You’ll need to make your purchase least one day in advance via L’eclair Patisserie’s website.

In related news, Ju Xing Home also has a new high tea set in Orchard, affordably priced at $21.80++ for two diners! Else, read our guide to the best food in Dhoby Ghaut if you’re looking for more recommendations in the area.
