New Aesthetic Matcha And Cookie Bar Hidden Inside A Bugis Boutique

Matcha girlies looking for their next matcha hunt will be happy to hear that Kampong Glam has just welcomed a trendy new cafe. Little Rituals, a matcha and cookie bar, has opened inside Plop Apparels, the multi-label fashion boutique known for its curated streetwear.

It’s the newest concept from the team behind Rituals of Kora, a matcha-focused cafe at Everton Park, and the second venue from the folks who started Kora Bakehouse at International Plaza. While the Everton Park outlet is a proper matcha cafe with seats, this one is more of a grab-and-go spot, though there’s a small seating area if you want to relax for a bit.

The menu leans on creative matcha combinations, priced from $5.50 for a Petite and $10.50 for a Regular. One difference from the Everton Park outlet is that Little Rituals cold-whisks its matcha, giving it a thicker, creamier texture with less of the usual graininess or grassy edge.

Signature flavours here include the Banana Earl Grey Matcha, Corn Milk Matcha, Wild Berries Matcha, and Vanilla Bean Matcha. The Banana Earl Grey is the one to look out for. It comes with banana chunks sitting at the bottom of the cup, making it a different beast from the usual banana pudding matcha.

If you’d rather keep things simple, there’s also traditional ceremonial matcha and the more intense koicha, a thicker, more concentrated style of matcha made with a higher powder-to-water ratio, resulting in a bolder, more intense flavour.

Pair your matcha with their chonky cookies, baked fresh in small batches daily. Among the lineup are Raspberry White Chocolate, Fruity Pebble, and Black Sesame Mochi, which comes with a stretchy mochi pull.
