Saizeriya Launches New Menu With $6.90 Gnocchi, Seafood Fritters And More

Every broke student looking for cheap eats, myself included, probably has the same guilty pleasure: Saizeriya. Known for their nett prices and affordable mains, Saizeriya has become a staple for weekday “Italian” dinners. They have recently introduced a few new items to their menu, including some past fan favourites.

Their most anticipated item is the Tomato Gnocchi With Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese & Bacon ($6.90), which has a cult following of its own. It comes with QQ gnocchi and salty bacon tossed in a bright, tangy tomato sauce, topped with fresh mozzarella cheese balls.

If tomato sauce isn’t up your alley, go for their Cream Gnocchi With Sweet Green Pea & Shrimp ($6.90). Expect the same chewy gnocchi served with sweet green peas and bouncy shrimp in a rich, creamy sauce.

When I was in Japan, one of Saizeriya’s most popular side dishes was their Sweet Green Pea With Poached Egg ($2.90). Now, the chain has also added this dish to its latest menu! It features a whole bowl of green peas topped with a silky onsen egg and parmesan cheese. The peas are said to be naturally sweet, with a slight crunch.

For avid pea haters who would still like to get their intake of vegetables, try their Egg Mayo Salad ($4.90), comprising salad mix tossed in Saizeriya’s signature salad dressing and topped with a heaping scoop of mayonnaise egg salad.

Seafood lovers will also enjoy their Seafood Fritter ($5.90), which features a medley of deep-fried seafood items: calamari rings, fish fillets, prawns, and nuggets.

Saizeriya’s discontinued Hazelnut Semifreddo will forever be my favourite dessert from them. As a pistachio fanatic, though, the newly added Pistachio Cannolo With Ice Cream ($4.90) comes in a close second. It is filled with silky pistachio cream and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

For those who enjoy alcohol, a bottle of Prosecco DOC Frizzante only costs $18.90!

Saizeriya’s new menu items can be enjoyed at any of their outlets.
