Lola’s Cafe Kovan Is Reopening With A Brand New Look, Get Tsukune Sando Here Too

Lola’s Cafe in Kovan is reopening with a new look

It’s been two long months for Kovan peeps since Lola’s Cafe closed their OG Simon Road store on 29 January this year, but the end is in sight—come 5 April 2023, AKA this Wednesday, they’ll be back in action!

The space revamp has been a long time coming; the ultra-popular cafe has spent 10 years in the old digs, so there’s no better time for a refresh. Plus fans had the option of heading to their much newer Holland Village store while Lola’s at Kovan underwent its facelift.

Expect the same clean, sinuous lines, earthy neutral and terracotta tones as at their Holland Village hideaway, with tables of varying sizes that cater to both large and small groups.

Other than your familiar favourites including Crab Cake Benedict ($20++) and Spicy Tomato Crab Rigatoni ($20++), there are some updates to the menu. For example, the beef cheeks on their dinner selection is now Pork Collage with Barley Risotto ($18++).

The Mushroom Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($17++) and Bacon & Mushroom Truffle Cream Linguine ($18++), if you’re fans of these, are still around, so don’t fret! Plus, the Tsukune Sando ($17++) that we got to try at their Holland Village store is available here.

New on the menu is a Lemon Basil Cheesecake ($8++), starring fresh, house-made lemon curd with cream cheese mousse and a cereal biscuit base, and fresh basil cream. Our favourite is the Black Sesame Tart ($7++), with its oozing goma white chocolate centre.

Another dessert that those with a sweet tooth can look out for is their Pandan Coconut Waffle ($14++), toasted to a crisp finish and topped with fresh banana slices. It’s finished with a gula melaka drizzle, and a single scoop of coconut sorbet too.

If Kovan is still too far away for you, Lola’s Cafe Holland Village is a Scandi-style hangout where you’ll get their classic favourites and more. Another cafe that recently opened is Cafe Limonci in Tai Seng, which looks like an atas furniture store!
