Chinatown is home to a plethora of good eats, including famous zi char and hearty steamboat. Another new addition to the list is Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant, which has just opened its second outlet along New Bridge Road. The casual eatery is conveniently located a minute on foot from Chinatown MRT Station.

If you’re a Katong resident, you might be familiar Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant’s first location in Joo Chiat. They’ve been around for a long while, and are known to regulars for serving unpretentious, authentic Vietnamese fare at reasonable prices.

They also have their popular Spring Rolls ($12), deep-fried till shatteringly crisp on the outside. It’s served with a sweet dipping sauce on the side to cut through the greasiness.

If you’ve been to Vietnam before, you might be familiar with Vietnamese-style dry noodle dishes topped with various types of meat. Long Phung is said to serve a solid Bun Thit Nuong (price TBD): grilled pork slices on a bed of rice noodles and fresh veggies, complete with a refreshingly sweet and tangy dressing.
As the restaurant is still rather new, their full menu and prices are not yet available. We’ll update this story once we get more details.
