Market Bistro: New Wall Street-Style Bistro Has Mains From $18++ In The CBD

Market Bistro has value-for-money mains in Marina Bay Financial Centre



If you work around the CBD, or more specifically at
Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC), you’ll probably have heard of Market Bistro. This relatively new restaurant distinguishes itself with its unique Wall Street-style interiors and reasonably priced mains—for the CBD, at least—which start from $18++.

Market Bistro is modelled after the type of bistro one would see on Wall Street in New York. Its contemporary design elements, such as hanging lights, bar seating, and tiled floors, further fuels these comparisons. 

Excited by what we heard about this restaurant, my colleague and I decided to head down and try it for ourselves. First on our list was the signature Irish Duck Confit ($28++), served with sweet potato puree, corn, chickpeas, kale, and edamame. 

We appreciated how the duck skin retained its crispiness while the meat itself was extremely tender and juicy. The sweet potato puree complemented the savoury duck well too.

Next up was the Fried Baby Squid ($15++), which was our favourite. Although I found the fried squid to have too much batter, the saving grace was the house-made sauce. Made with chilli oil and garlic aioli sauce, this combination was quite fiery, perfect for spicy food lovers! 

To end our meal, we had the Chocolate Brownie ($12++), which comes with vanilla ice cream, some raspberries and cocoa nibs. You can’t go wrong with this combination: the brownie had a gooey, chocolate-y flavour, which went well with the creamy and rich vanilla ice cream. 

If you’re looking for a drink, Market Bistro also has a variety of options, such as their Kyoto Grape Oolong Tea ($6), Iced Mocha Latte ($7), and Matcha Latte ($7), to name a few.
