Me@OUE Launches to Most Patriotic Menu Ever for National Day

Dinner with a view

If the thought of chili crab and other Singaporean dishes cooked with the best quality ingredients excites you, Me@OUE’s new National Day menu may just fit the bill. The restaurant will feature uniquely Singaporean dishes during the weekends leading up to National Day and a special menu on the 9th of August itself to celebrate Singapore’s 50th.

Instead of blowing ridiculous wads of cash on NDP tickets on Ebay, you might want to consider a table at Me@OUE. The restaurant towers over the skyline, and there’s nothing like watching the fireworks go off all around you while sipping champagne. Be warned though, all this glitz and glamour come at quite a price. Here’s what to expect from the new menu:

Me@OUE Sweet & Sour Pork ($120 for 4 guests)

The pork used here Momoiro a variant of Shirobuta a premium breed from Japan. It was tender but I wouldn’t be able to speak to it’s taste which is drowned out by the sweet and sour sauce. While sauce is balanced well, I can’t really see an average person ordering this Chinese restaurant staple for that price.

Me@OUE Chili Lobster ($180 for 4 guests)

If crab is just too mainstream for you, this might be more to your taste. The sauce tastes great, sweet and spicy in all the right ways. It’s a good dish to turn to if you’d like to forgo the hard work of cracking and eating crabs. I just wish I had more sauce to dip those crispy man tou buns into.

Stir-fried Mee Sua with Sri Lankan Crab ($198 for 4 guests)

This is probably my favourite dish in the trio. The quality of the ingredients really shine here. The crab was sweet and fleshy, these aren’t your skinny crab legs you get at your zi char stall!  The mee sua is cooked in superior stock and was chock full of savoury flavors.
