I get the butterflies whenever a new bubble tea brand launches in Singapore. Just last week, Xing Fu Tang had a pop-up stall at the huge Takashimaya Food Fiesta. Now, the super famous Taiwanese bubble tea shop Milkshop will be opening outlets in Suntec City and Funan by the end of June 2019.

Operating under the name Milksha, this bubble tea shop is loved amongst Taiwanese university students, thanks to their quality ingredients. This popularity is evident from the 230 outlets found across Taiwan. Their honey pearls, for instance, are prepared and frozen in Taiwan, before being air-flown to Singapore. This ensures that there’s a similar consistency and quality in all their branches.

Their boba range comprises four different series:

• Fresh Milk
• Fresh Milk Tea Latte
• Premium Tea
• Special Concoctions

For pearl lovers, their Earl Grey Latte with Honey Pearl is a crowd favourite. The intricately prepared golden boba is mixed with Earl Grey tea and milk, giving you a beautiful perfume of bergamot, accompanied by sweet and chewy pearls. I absolutely loved this drink when I tried it in Taiwan.

Their Azuki Matcha Milk uses premium Japanese matcha to achieve that delicate, velvety consistency. Fresh milk is also used for a pronounced creaminess.

Another popular treat is their Fresh Taro Milk. Hand ground taro is mixed with fresh milk, leaving bits of taro pulp sticking out of the drink.

Even though their official opening date has yet to be announced, you can pre-order these beauties on 10 June 2019 via Klook. Although they’re limited to 320 cups, you’ll be able to reserve the Fresh Taro Milk, Azuki Matcha Milk or Valrhona Cocoa Fresh Milk drinks with a $2 discount!
