Treat Mom to high tea with a Peranakan twist at The Lobby Lounge in Shangri-La Hotel. Available throughout May, the 3-Tier Local Signature Afternoon Tea Set is priced at $60++ on weekdays, or $78++ on weekends. All sets come with two cups of tea or coffee, or even teh tarik and kopi tarik if mom loves her cuppa more traditional. Bites are nyonya-fusion, so expect the likes of Chilli Crab Otak Tart to go alongside with old-school kueh.

Miss Fitz is a Mediterranean bistro in Marina Bay, so take your mother’s palate on a journey to the likes of Greece and beyond with their 4-Course Set Lunch Menu ($58++). If your mother is a fan of Italian food, then treat her to some stellar renditions at Zafferano. The Italian restaurant has created a four-course Mother’s Day Menu ($88++) inspired by the head chef’s maternal figures. The meal starts off with a classic Melanzana, better known as eggplant parmigiana, before moving on to a spaghetti dish made with monkfish ragout and rucola pesto. Then, enjoy the heartiness of the Merluzzo, a Tuscan fish stew, before finishing with a dessert. This menu is available for a limited time only, at lunch on 7 and 8 May, as well as for lunch and dinner on 9 May.

Please mom with traditional Chinese cuisine at Yan, where a six-course Mother’s Day menu goes for $88++ per person from now till 9 May. For more Mother’s Day afternoon teas, head down to The Marmalade Pantry, where they have an Afternoon Tea Set priced at $54++ for two people, available from Friday to Sunday, between 3pm to 6pm. The two-tiered stand has both savouries and sweets, including the likes of finger sandwiches, and petite cupcakes. Apart from expected flavours like truffle egg mayo and roast beef, the savouries also include Spicy Crabmeat Dip with Fried Mantou. The set also comes with two pots of Monogram tea.

Moms with a big appetite can look forward to Straits Kitchen’s halal-certified lunch buffet spread, chock full of local delights. Priced at $68++ per adult, the buffet will include Mother’s Day specials, including Braised Seafood Claypot, Slow Braised Australian Beef Rendang, and even nostalgic Milo Ice Cream for dessert. Score extra brownie points for the setting, as Straits Kitchen is located in Grand Hyatt Hotel. The buffet is only available on 9 May.

Tsui Wah, the famous Hong Kong cha chaan teng, is taking mom on a journey to Hong Kong with their $58++ Mother’s Day set menu. Only available at their Clarke Quay outlet, Tsui Wah’s special menu includes the like of Kagoshima-style braised pork atop instant noodles, and Braised Abalone Sauce Rice with Diced Chicken.
