Word is in: New Bahru, an up-and-coming dining cluster in River Valley, is set to open its doors from May 2024! Located in 46 and 58 Kim Yam Road, the new lifestyle destination is a collaboration between The Lo & Behold Group and Sunray Group Holdings.
You can look forward a whopping total of 13 F&B brands that’ll launch at New Bahru. The latest addition to the directory is famous granola brand Dearborn, which will open its flagship store with a microbakery, shop, and all-day breakfast cafe.

Founded by Chef Christopher Kong, Dearborn was first a private supper club in 2018, before it became a small-batch granola bakery in 2020. You can soon shop their super-popular granola and enjoy it in-store, when the flagship cafe opens in River Valley.
Joining the list of cult-favourite brands on the New Bahru list is burger brand One Fattened Calf, which will also make its appearance in the new dining enclave.
One Fattened Calf is most known for their juicy beef burgers that star house-made potato buns, so you’ll likely be able to find these signature burgers on the menu of their new River Valley eatery.
Next up, Huevos. The popular Mexican restaurant in Bugis often sports snaking queues during mealtimes, so if you’d like to beat the line, you can try out this new outlet instead!
We don’t know the full menu at the moment, but can confirm that there’ll be new dishes starring grilled and smoked items.
For a taste of something more local, you won’t go wrong with One Prawn & Co, which will open their second outlet at the River Valley enclave.
This new branch will offer a new menu with modern Asian seafood dishes, wood-fired grilled items and more.
That’s not all: The Coconut Club, Michelin-recommended San Shu Gong, and Mirko Febbrile—the famous Italian chef behind Fico—are slated to launch at New Bahru too!
We’ll update this story when we get more details about the launch.
In other recent food news, Vanda Botanical Desserts now has the Japan-viral matcha noodle gelato in Somerset! You can also read our latest Surrey Hills Grocer Holland Village feature if you’d like to enjoy tapas from famous Melbourne restaurant MoVida.
