Old Chang Kee’s Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Bento Is Back Till 18 August

If you missed it earlier this year, Old Chang Kee has brought back their Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Bento Meal, which is available in selected outlets till 18 August daily between 11:30am and 5pm, or while stocks last.

On sale for $5, Old Chang Kee’s Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Bento Meal comprises the naturally-coloured coconut rice with the vegetables of the day, ikan bilis and peanuts, sambal, half a hard-boiled egg, and your choice of a deep-fried chicken cutlet, or chicken wing.

If you’re thinking of getting your hands on this bento box, do note that it’s only retailing at WhiteSand, Northpoint City, IMM, Sun Plaza, Junction 8, Clementi Mall, SHELL Woodlands, Causeway Point, NEX, Compass One, Hougang Mall, Waterway Point, SPC Punggol, Choa Chu Kang MRT Station, LOT 1, Yew Tee Point, and Bukit Batok MRT Station.

It seems that these bento boxes sell out pretty early, so head down to any of these outlets early!

Sadly, the Blue Pea Nasi Lemak’O, which was part of the Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Series that Old Chang Kee launched in celebration of Hari Raya this April, will not be returning this time around. If you didn’t get a chance to try it, it features the same blue pea nasi lemak rice with masala chicken, ikan bilis, peanuts, egg, and sambal in a deep-fried epok epok—here’s hoping that Old Chang Kee re-introduces it again soon!

Other than the Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Bento, there’s another National Day special at Old Chang Kee. The National Day Cup ($3.50) comes with a Cheezy Lobster Ball, Cheezy Chicken Sausage, Cheezy Fish Finger, Cheezy Chicken Ball, and QQ Fries, all drenched in nacho cheese for an extra cheesy treat.

For other local favourites, McDonald’s is also releasing a brand new Hainanese Chicken Rice Burger, created in collaboration with local artiste Ben Yeo, that will hit stores on 5 August. Sandwich chain Subway, too, has a Beef Rendang Sub, Chicken Rendang Sub, and Pandan Cookie for National Day, that you can get from now till 28 September.
