Known for trendy collabs and an extensive range of flavours, from hotteok to white peach oolong tea and even wasabi, OREO just keeps on giving. To date, the brand has created over 200 variations of its iconic cookie, and they’re still going strong.
As part of their newest “Twist, Lick, Vote” campaign, the beloved cookie brand recently released a lineup of three exciting flavours: Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles, alongside two limited-edition ones: Apple Pie and Cinnamon Bun. Fans can vote for their favourite flavour till 12 October 2026, with the winner set to return to stores sometime next year.
Priced at $17.90 per packet, for 18 cookies, these limited-edition flavours are available at selected Cold Storage supermarkets islandwide. FYI, we found the cookies at their Bugis Junction outlet, but we’ve caught wind that you can get them at NEX as well.Â
Despite the hefty price tag, we just had to try these bizarre flavours for ourselves.
We bought three flavours and tried the limited edition Apple Pie flavour first.Â
Right off the bat, I was hit with notes of cinnamon, followed by the classic taste of the sugary OREO filling. I found that the combination left an aftertaste reminiscent of cough syrup, and my colleagues whom I coaxed into trying these shared the same sentiment.Â
Aside from being ultra sweet, I enjoyed this flavour the most, though it can never compare to the actual dessert. Since the biscuits are not individually packed like the OREOs we are normally used to, I highly recommend sharing them, lest you get a sugar overload.
I would never have thought that a brunch favourite like Chicken & Waffles would be turned into an OREO, but here we are.
At first glance, one side of the biscuit emulates the grid-like texture of a waffle, making it look deceptively cute despite how sus it sounds. Fun fact: this flavour is actually vegetarian-friendly despite its name.Â
As soon as I opened the pack, I smelled a strong waft of maple syrup. True enough, the cookies are smushed together with two layers of creme, with one of them having a maple-like taste.
I was surprised by how they could replicate the fried chicken taste, even adding specks of what appears to be pepper in the creme. However, the fact that the filling resembled chicken threw me off, so I’d give this a pass. It did spark an amusing debate in the office, though!Â
Last but not least are the Deep Fried OREOs. According to the Tasting Table, these OREOs aren’t actually deep-fried, but aim to replicate the taste of an actual deep-fried OREO instead.Â
This was the thiccest cookie out of all, layered with a whopping three layers of icing meant to mimic an actual softened OREO. The golden cookies are supposed to act as the deep-fried “dough” exterior, though it didn’t taste any different from the original to me.
The Deep Fried flavour ended up being a favourite among my colleagues, and is definitely the safest option out of all.
Overall, the cookies did pique our interest and made for fun conversation, but for its price, I’d stick to the regular ones. Give these a go if you’re up for something new, and who knows, they might just remain on shelves in the long run!Â
