There’s just something about min jiang kueh that makes it so addictive. Whether soft or crispy, sweet or savoury, this old-school pancake has easily become one of Singapore’s favourite local snacks. Pancake King is one of the many stalls in Singapore selling min jiang kueh, and they’re the only one that’s been offering a “Money Back Guarantee” policy since 1998.

As Pancake King has 16 outlets islandwide, you don’t have to travel too far to have a bite of their fluffy pancakes.

Their pancakes are made fresh on the spot without using any oil or eggs. They are also free of MSG, preservatives, and artificial flavouring.

You can expect a variety of flavours, including the classic Peanut Pancake and Red Bean Paste Pancake, both of which are priced at $1.50 each. Their most expensive flavour is the Cheese Pancake, which will cost you $2 per piece.

If you prefer your min jiang kueh dense, flagrant, and chewy, you’ll be glad to know that their pancakes are all of the above, with crispy edges that let out a soft crunch with each bite.

The Coconut Pancake ($1.50) is another popular order, comprising crushed peanuts and coconut palm sugar. The sweet filling is spread evenly throughout the pancake, so customers can enjoy a balanced ratio of pancake and filling in each bite.

If you can’t decide which ones to get, opt for the Pancake Rolls-In-A-Box ($3.80), featuring a Kaya Pancake alongside the red bean, peanut, and cheese-flavoured min jiang kueh.

Pancake King also offers old-school snacks and cakes with the likes of Carrot Cake ($3.50), Butter Cake ($2.30), and Chocolate Walnut Cake ($3.50). Made using fresh carrots, the Carrot Cake is slathered with cream cheese and topped with chopped walnuts.

Customers also have good things to say about their buttery Egg Tarts ($2.20), featuring a crumbly crust and caramelised egg custard filling that’s similar to that of Portuguese egg tarts.

If you’re hosting a gathering or event, consider getting their catering bundles for up to 45 people. The most basic bundle, Bundle A ($153), feeds a party of 25 and comes with two whole cakes, brownies, 20 pancake rolls, and an assortment of fritters and kueh.
