This Hidden Cafe At Far East Plaza Has Affordable Bagels And Souffle Pancakes

Pancakes And Friends has affordable bagels and pancakes

Dining at a cafe in town tends to come with a hefty price tag. But you don’t always have to break the bank if you know where to look. Pancakes And Friends at Far East Plaza is a great example as this hidden cafe serves affordable pancakes, bagels, and rosti at nett prices.

They are best known for their affordable bagels, most of which cost less than $10! You can order the bagels either as a closed or an open-faced sandwich. The latter costs a little more, as there are double the toppings in your bagel. Take note that the price additions differ for each flavour.

We got their popular Nutella Banana open-faced bagel for $8. If you prefer the closed sandwich style, enjoy it at only $6. This one features two halves of a toasted bagel, smeared with chocolate hazelnut spread, then topped with bananas, and finished with icing sugar and cocoa powder.

For a savoury treat, get the Smoked Salmon Cheese bagel for $8 as a closed sandwich. Despite the affordable price, this was generously packed with premium ingredients such as arugula and smoked salmon.

Besides their bagels, the Japanese souffle pancakes were quite delicious too. Their must-tries include the super filling Big Breakfast ($15) comprising ham, cheese, and sunny-side-up. If you like sweet-savoury combinations, you can drizzle some maple syrup that’s provided on the side.

Alternatively, you can also get their Hokkaido Milk ($12), a Japanese souffle pancake topped with a substantial amount of house-made milk cream, and then garnished with muesli bits. You also get a scoop of Hokkaido milk gelato on the side! The souffle pancakes alone were fluffy, which paired well with the light and creamy whipped cream.

The cafe is decorated with American vintage car plates and other paraphernalia. Spot their adorable mascots that reminded me of Cuphead, a video game with similar aesthetics.
