This New Dessert Cafe In Buona Vista Has Legit Korean Bingsu Under $10

Plan A Dessert Cafe has Korean bingsu at The Star Vista

Bingsu was one of the most iconic desserts I remember having while schooling. It was hilarious how my secondary school bros’ plan A to impress girls was by bringing them to bingsu cafes after school—which almost always never worked out. Coincidence or not, but I recently caught wind of a newly opened bingsu cafe at The Star Vista called Plan A Dessert Cafe.

Thinking back about how bingsu was all the rage in the 2010s, it’s surprising to see that this dessert is now having a sort of resurgence in Singapore. This new cafe boasts a minimalist interior, with a photo wall that can serve as the perfect backdrop for #OOTD shots with your bingsu.

Plan A Dessert Cafe uses 100% fresh milk—Meiji Fresh Milk, to be even more specific—for their snow ice desserts. Be spoilt for choice with their whopping 13 different flavours of bingsu to pick from. Some of the all-time favourites here include Green Tea Lover ($12.90), Milo ($12.90), and Choco Bananas ($14.90). They also offer the classic Cookies And Cream ($12.90), and you can zhng it up by going for the Cookies And Cream Madness ($14.90) which is topped with Oreo cookies, marshmallows, and even a rainbow ice cream stick!

You can also find fruit-based bingsu here too. The Mango Yuzu ($17.90) comes highly recommended, which consists of a refreshing combination of Japanese yuzu, fresh mangoes, a scoop of mango ice cream, and roasted almonds. Other decadent flavours include Strawberry Cream ($17.90), Mango Cheesecake ($17.90), and Melon ($17.90).

You can choose to add on an Ice Cream ($2), Marshmallow ($1.50), Chocolate ($2), or Mascarpone Cheese ($2) for extra indulgence in your bingsu. Their ice cream flavours include Chocolate, Vanilla, Green Tea, and Rainbow.

If one giant bingsu is too jelak for you, you can opt for their Petite Size selection. These are more affordable, and see their classic flavours served in a smaller cup. Flavours include Oreo ($7.50), Caramel Cookie ($7.50), Strawberry ($8.50), and Green Tea With Red Bean ($8.50).

Aside from their signature bingsu, they also have freshly baked savoury buns and croissants which are said to be sourced from Madu the Bakery. Some of these items include Classic Garlic ($7), Mentaiko ($8), Melon Pan ($3.50), and Pain Au Chocolat ($5.50), so be sure to try them out during your visit!

Plan A’s might not work out all the time, so for other dessert cafes in the mall as your plan B, check out CATBAKE, a cat-themed Japanese bakery by a famous Japanese pastry chef. For another cafe worth visiting, I recommend Rise, an aesthetic cafe in Potong Pasir serving coffee, fresh waffles and gelato, as well as cakes.
