Playmade is known for launching trendy and innovative bubble tea flavours that run for a limited time only, from their Horlicks milk tea to coconut shakes. Following their recent opening at AMK Hub, the Taiwanese BBT brand has recently partnered Jia Jia Herbal Tea to offer liang teh bubble tea and pearls, just in time for CNY.

The limited-run items, namely the Jia Jia Milk Tea ($4.20 for medium, $5.80 for large) and Jia Jia Boba ($1.20 for medium, $1.80 for large), are available from now till mid-February 2022 at all Playmade stores. The former is a refreshing beverage featuring Playmade’s classic milk tea mixed with Jia Jia Liang Teh, while the latter are handmade pearls infused with the same herbal tea.

As with all other items on Playmade’s menu, the milk tea and pearls are handmade with all-natural ingredients. The recommendation is to opt for zero or 25% sugar as the drink alone is slightly sweetened.

If you’re not a fan of herbal tea, Playmade has other popular flavours to choose from. The Pink Cactus Float Jasmine Green Tea (from $5.80) is an IG-worthy pick, while the Chrysanthemum Milk Tea (from $3.80) zhngs up your regular BBT with light floral notes.

Those who know and love the brand should also check out Playground by Playmade at AMK Hub to try their sweet and savoury food items. Fill up with a Taiwanese Chicken Croissant ($7.90), or if you’re up for a dessert, go for the Boba Egglet ($3.90), a unique egglet waffle paired with any pearl flavour of your choice.

If you’re looking for more bubble tea places to try, check out Make Tea, a BBT stall in Clementi that serves handmade mochi ball toppings. Alternatively, read our Dont Yell At Me review for Taiwanese layered drinks and more in Orchard.
