Popeyes Has A New Limited-Time Fried Soft-Shell Crab Mantou Burger

Popeyes’ soft-shell crab burgers – Chic N Crab Mantou

There’s no shortage of delicious grub in Singapore – our food scene is thriving! And while I can’t survive without my weekly dose of Hainanese chicken rice and kaya toast, it is chilli crab that’s my absolute favourite local dish. And this year for National Day, Popeyes will be rolling out a tantalising crab special, Chic N Crab Mantou!

Sandwiching a whole piece of soft-shell crab between a golden brown mantou, the burger was further punched up by a generous dollop of piquant sauce made with tomato, lime and chilli. Overflowing onto our hands as we bit into the burger, the punchy gravy had a strong kick of spice, tasting exactly like the real deal.

Alongside the crab burger was a chicken version featuring Popeyes’ crunchy Cajun chicken. The bold flavours of the Louisiana-spiced chicken paired deliciously with the sweet and tangy chilli sauce – a total level-up from the usual fried chicken burger. For those who don’t fancy crab, you can request for two chicken mantou burgers instead!

At $9.90, you get a full Chic & Crab Mantou Set Meal comprising one soft-shell crab mantou, one chicken mantou, a regular mashed potato, as well as a can of Pepsi Black – a zero-calorie version of Pepsi that’s not too sweet, and oh-so-refreshing.

Alternatively, if you’re planning to jio a friend along, you can order the Friendly Feast ($19.50), which comes with all of the above, as well as two pieces of chicken, one regular cheese fries, one additional regular mashed potato, one Atom Ice Cream and an additional can of Pepsi Black.

Be sure to swing down fast, as the Chic N Crab Mantou will only be available until 3 September 2018!
