Qin Ji Rougamo Has Crispy Chinese Burgers And Suan La Fen

Qin Ji Rougamo in Tanjong Pagar has crispy Chinese burgers

If you’re a fan of crispy Asian pastries—think roti prata or Chinese scallion pancakes—you have to visit Qin Ji Rougamo, which has an outlet in the CBD. Located in Guoco Tower, which is directly connected to Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, this casual eatery helms from China.

The popular chain specialises in rougamo AKA Chinese burgers, a street food item originating from the Shaanxi Province.

A bestseller is the Qin Ji Pork Rougamo ($5.80): crispy baked pastry sandwiched by juicy shredded pork. The pork is said to be slow-cooked for 10 hours to achieve that melt-in-the-mouth tenderness.

Those who want something more punchy can opt for the Cumin Pork Rougamo ($5.80), which features aromatic and nutty notes of the spice.

Otherwise, try the meaty Black Pepper Beef ($5.90) flavour. Purists can also have a taste of the plain Crispy Rougamo, priced at just $3 apiece.

The buns that form the Chinese burgers are made by hand and baked fresh to crispy goodness. They’re said to be similar to prata, but less greasy.

On top of rougamo, the popular Chinese chain also sells noodles for a quick and satisfying meal. There’s the Cold Noodles Skin ($6.50), comprising bouncy noods mixed with an addictive chilli oil sauce, and finished with cucumber slices for a refreshing fix.

Otherwise, the Sour & Spicy (Potato Noodle) With Minced Pork ($8.80) AKA suan la fen is another popular pick if you can take the heat.

This comes with slippery, silky smooth noodles in a tangy and spicy broth that’s super shiok on a rainy day.

Besides this CBD location, Qin Ji Rougamo has a few other outlets across the island, including one at Paya Lebar Square and another at Alexandra Retail Centre. The Chinese chain has also just announced their latest branch opening at Sengkang Grand Mall, which will launch on 11 March.

If you work in the CBD, stay tuned for popular Bangkok cafe Kohi Coffee Bar‘s upcoming launch at Shenton Way! Otherwise, visit Hellu Coffee, a new cafe in Far East Square with fresh croffles, matcha cream beverages and more.

Address: 7 Wallich Street, #B2-04, Guoco Tower, Singapore 078884
