Commanding long queues at their Suntec City outlet since they first opened in 2017, Ramen Nagi is a hot favourite among ramen lovers in town. So it comes as no surprise that their second outlet at ION Orchard has received much fanfare since they opened in July 2019!
If you’ve not been to the new Orchard outlet yet, you should come down for their grand opening on 13 September 2019, as they will be having a 1-for-1 deal on their Original Butao King ramen then!
For those new to Ramen Nagi, this is a great chance for you to try out their signature ramen without splashing much cash. After all, thanks to the 1-for-1 deal, each bowl of ramen will only set you back $6.95++ (U.P. $13.90++)!
What I love about the Butao King is its broth. Rich and creamy, the tonkotsu broth washes over your palate with intense umami flavours. As someone who has been to Japan and eaten ramen every other day, I can attest that this bowl of porky goodness is as legit as it gets.
The ramen also comes with a generous portion of springy Hakata noodles that carries the broth well.
Do note that the 1-for-1 offer is limited, and is on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s best you arrive as early as possible.
For those with a daring palate, try the other unique creations by Ramen Nagi. The flavours in the Black King ($15.90++) are robust, thanks to blackened garlic, squid ink, and a blend of peppery spices.
If you are a fan of cheesy dishes, get the Green King ($15.90++). Here, you will find a mountain of grated parmesan cheese atop a green broth. The green comes from the addition of fresh basil, which helps cut through the richness of this dish. That being said, while the broth was tasty, I did find it quite heavy and couldn’t wipe my bowl clean.
All in all, I’m rejoicing that Ramen Nagi has another outlet, as this might mean shorter queues!
