We first saw Shake Shack‘s Black Truffle Burger when their Westgate eatery opened. The limited edition item is now back in time for the festive season, with new holiday-themed milkshakes to alongside.
If you’ve yet to have the Black Truffle Burger ($14), it is an upgrade on the signature ShackBurger. American cheese is swapped for Swiss Cheese, and the burger is then finished with a black truffle mayo, as well as sweet pickled shallots, and peppery arugula, instead of regular iceberg lettuce.
Truffle’s signature aroma complements the juicy, smashed beef patty, while the pickled onion helps imbue each bite with a bit of zing. Arugula’s characteristic pepperiness also helps lift the burger up a tad.
If a truffle-y beef burger isn’t for you, then Shake Shack is also bringing back its Black Truffle Chicken Burger ($14), starring the same combo, except with a fried chicken breast patty instead of a beef one.
For sides, skip the plain fries and go instead for the Black Truffle Fries ($8.50). Crinkle-cut fries are topped with a rich truffle mayo, then finished with scallions and fried shallots for texture.

Finish off your meal with any of their holiday-themed milkshakes. The Christmas Cookie Shake ($9.10) returns, spotlighting handspun sugar cookies and crumbled shortbread, all blended with their standard frozen vanilla custard.
Lovers of mint chocolate can, instead, try the Chocolate Peppermint Shake ($9.10). Chocolate frozen custard is blended with peppermint, and dressed with a choco mint cookie crumble.
The Black Truffle items and the holiday milkshakes will be available at Shake Shack outlets islandwide till 31 December 2022.
