Stand To Win Round Trip Flights To Japan When You Order Suntory Kakubin Highballs From Now Till 31 Aug

Suntory Kakubin Highball Time lucky draw

Ice-cold, refreshing, and pairs perfectly with food—if these are your holy trinity requirements for your cocktail order, then you shouldn’t be a stranger to the Suntory Kakubin Highball.

The simple combination of Japan’s number 1 selling whisky, bubbly soda water, ice, and a wedge of lemon has been a staple for Japanese and international drinkers ever since Suntory revived the highball for the masses in the late 2000s.

Besides being a top-tier thirst-quencher, the Suntory Kakubin Highball is designed to elevate every and any meal. It’s light enough to enjoy from the first appetiser to the last bite of dessert, with a crisp, clean finish that won’t overwhelm your palate. Unlike sugary cocktails or malty beers, the Kakubin Highball enhances your meal rather than competing with it, making it the choice companion to everything from grilled skewers to sushi platters.

And from now till 31 August 2025, there’s even more reason to get your highball fix. Suntory Kakubin is pairing with over 30 Japanese bars and restaurants across Singapore to offer a couple of drinkers a chance to win a pair of round-trip tickets to Japan worth $1,000 per ticket!

All you have to do is purchase either a twin highball set to enjoy one lucky draw chance, or, if you’re dining with a group, a bottle of Suntory Kakubin whisky to enjoy eight chances.

As a teaser, some participating eateries include Taki Izakaya, Ne Ne Neko, Rappu, Kura Oyster Bar, and Ginkyo by Kinki, a Holland Village establishment that we’ve recently ranked as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Singapore. Founded by the same folks behind the buzzy, multi-storey gastro-bar Kinki at Customs House, Ginkyo melds Japanese culinary tradition with modern global flair.

It’s the kind of menu that begs for a crisp, bubbly Suntory Kakubin highball in hand.

Dig into East-meets-West starters, such as the AC/DC Dynamite ($20++), a maki roll that combines raw and deep-fried seafood, as well as a house-made Sriracha soya sauce, to create a literal flavour bomb.

Cut through the spice with a sip of your highball, then reach for a Salmon Mango Salsa Taco ($16++), crowned with a tangy mango salsa that goes hand-in-hand with the dash of lemon in your cocktail.

Aside from the sharing starters, Ginkyo by Kinki also has a selection of grilled sharing dishes, as well as claypot and donburi-style bowls. The A4 Wagyu Hamburg ($38++) is one of our top recommendations, thanks to the combination of marbled Wagyu, moreish crispy rice, and fragrant perilla leaf tempura, all doused in Ginkyo’s special sauce.

The Okonomi-Rosti ($26++) is another win, remixing the okonomiyaki blueprint with shredded potato a la Swedish rosti, finished with a lush mentaiko sauce.

As always, the clean, subtly citrusy Kakubin Highball is there to help temper the richness of these dishes and keep you going back for more.

FYI: If you’re ordering a bottle, ask for soda water and lemon as a mixer to DIY your own highballs.

The formula is simple: in a Suntory highball mug, first squeeze in some lemon juice and drop in the wedge. Then, fill the mug with ice to the brim. Pour in 30ml of the whisky, top it up with four parts soda, and stir. Voila, you’ve got a highball in a jiffy.

The next time you’re looking to jio your gang out for drinks, beeline for any one of the bars participating in the Suntory Kakubin Highball Time activation. Remember, there are round-trip air tickets to be won, as long as you participate before 31 August!
