Surrey Hills Deli Opens In The CBD With Melbourne-Inspired Sandwiches, Triple Truffle Fries And More

Surrey Hills Deli in Raffles Place has sandwiches and coffee

Those working in the CBD now have another spot to grab their cuppa! Following the launch of their two outlets in Joo Koon and Orchard, the folks behind Surrey Hills Grocer have opened yet another Australian-inspired dining concept, Surrey Hills Deli near Raffles Place MRT Station.

Furnished with wood, lots of plants, and large windows for natural lighting, the 20-seater exudes a rustic-chic, contemporary farmhouse vibe.

Whether you’re into hearty sangers or something classic and simple, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Surrey Hills Deli’s eight signature sandwiches.

The Hendurance ($18++) is one of the cafe’s best-selling flavours, featuring white sourdough packed with French poulet ham, romaine lettuce, roasted sweet potato, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, Caesar dressing, and a fried Nuyolk egg.

This gigantic sandwich requires some effort to consume as it’s super thick and packed generously with ingredients. On our visit, we enjoyed how the different textures contrasted well, making each bite a satisfying one.

We were also treated to the Energise To-ma-toes ($16++), starring Ciabatta layered with marinated momotaro tomatoes, provolone cheese, burrata, laced with caramelised onions and arugula.

This sandwich was lighter than the Hendurance, but still flavourful enough thanks to the olive oil and herby basil pesto. It was reminiscent of a burrata salad but in sandwich form.

If you’re in a hurry and are looking for actual salad, the deli also sells ready-made veggie bowls, including the Grilled Chicken Pesto Salad ($16++), Mortadella Soba Salad ($18++), and AVO and Fruits Salad ($15++).

Otherwise, pick out some fresh fruit bowls, cheese, loaded hummus, or gourmet yoghurts at the mini grocer for easy snacking on the go!

Feel free to pair your sarnies and salads with the deli’s selection of aromatic Aussie coffee. Look out for two of their outlet-exclusive beverages, including the Rhubarb Lemonade ($7++), a light, refreshing lemonade mixed with sweet rhubarb syrup, and Espresso Sparkling ($7++)—iced long black infused with sparkling water, topped with lemon slices.

After 5pm, the cafe transforms into a relaxing space for after-work gatherings, serving bar snacks such as Tater Tots ($12++) and Triple Truffle Fries ($12++), as well as wines, rosés, and Australian craft beers on tap from $15++.
