We Tried Surrey Hills’ New Matcha Udon Collab With HEYTEA So You Don’t Have To

Surrey Hills Grocer x HEYTEA collab has new matcha udon

Love matcha? The good news is, the matcha trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. We’ve tried Takagi’s matcha ramen, and now, Surrey Hills Grocer has joined the hype by launching a limited-time matcha udon with HEYTEA!

The Cloud Matcha Udon ($26++) is available across all five Surrey Hills Grocer restaurants: ION Orchard, One Holland Village, Raffles City, Woodleigh Mall, and VivoCity.

You can enjoy it from now till 25 September 2025, though we recommend visiting earlier for lunch as there are limited servings available each day.

It stars springy udon noodles tossed in a vibrant green miso sauce made with HEYTEA Jingshan Matcha, paired with pork fennel sausage.

Crowning the noodles is a generous dollop of Parmigiano Reggiano foam that adds an umami edge to the dish.

Give everything a good mix before tucking in. The earthy, matcha-infused sauce clung to each strand of udon, which was perfectly cooked till al dente.

I found that the matcha took a backseat in this dish, with the savoury notes of the pork sausage, miso, and cheese foam taking centre stage. However, as the dish cooled slightly, the green tea flavour became more prominent over time. Overall, the grassiness of the matcha complemented the rich and creamy sauce, without overpowering it.

Besides the matcha udon, the Surrey Hills Grocer x HeyTea collab also features an exclusive drink: Matcha Cloud 9 & A Half ($9.50++). This beverage consists of three distinct layers: coconut water, beetroot juice, and HEYTEA’s Jingshan matcha cloud.

Stir the layers and take a sip; I enjoyed the combination of the thick matcha cream, refreshing coconut water, and slightly earthy beetroot.

The new collab menu is only available till 25 September, so head down soon before it’s too late!

If you love matcha as much as we do, visit Creamie Sippies‘ new Chinatown cafe to enjoy freshly milled matcha. Otherwise, read all about Market at Maxwell, a new matcha kiosk beside Maxwell Food Centre.
