This Work-Friendly Cafe In Clarke Quay Has Brunch Under $20 And Free Vinyl Listening Stations

Swee Lee Clarke Quay has a new work-friendly brunch cafe

Audiophiles, music lovers, and cafe-hoppers: this one’s for you. Swee Lee Clarke Quay has just opened with a sprawling cafe and bar, dedicated vinyl-listening areas and more—all under one roof.

We got a sneak peek of the spanking new space, which houses a full-fledged cafe and bar on one end, along with a vinyl listening corner on the other, both sections separated by a lineup of records for your perusal.

Head further in and you’ll find more seats spread across the well-lit space, boasting high ceilings and glass panels for ample natural light to stream in during the day. The cafe also has Wi-Fi and power points so you can plug in your lappie and work the afternoon away!

Over at the cafe, you can expect all-day brunch fare that are well-priced under $20. Prices are nett, too.

Try their Kaya Toast & Dippy Eggs ($17), which features a thick slab of brioche french toast with a side of pandan kaya custard, served alongside two soft-boiled eggs a la Ya Kun Kaya Toast.

Pour over as much kaya custard as you like; the rich and creamy custard was fragrant and not too sweet, pairing well with the fluffy brioche and jammy eggs.

If you’re on Team Savoury when it comes to brunch, you won’t go wrong with their Spinach + Cheese Toastie ($15), starring toasted sourdough sandwiching spinach and melted cheese.

Dunk the toastie into the house-made marinara sauce—this had an intense tomatoey flavour with a thick texture that was more like a paste.

Those who are familiar with the waffles served at Swee Lee Cafe at The Star Vista will be happy to know that you can find them here at the new Clarke Quay cafe. The best part is they’re also available in half-portions, great for solo diners!

The Matcha Azuki ($15 for half, $18 for full) flavour comprises the cafe’s signature buttermilk waffles paired with red bean paste, house-made matcha cream, toasted almond, and candied ginger. A scoop of vanilla ice cream adds a nice contrast to the piping-hot waffles.

I preferred the Apple Pie ($15 for half, $18 for full) flavour for its warm and comforting notes. Here, the fresh waffles are dressed with stewed cinnamon apple chunks, house-made chai caramel drizzle, and toasted walnuts for crunch.

Don’t forget to give their specialty drinks a go, with unique picks such as Kopiccino ($10): warm oat milk, double espresso, and crunchy chocolate balls, spiked with Baileys.

The Kaya Cloud ($8) is equally delicious; this complex concoction features cold brew coffee that’s infused with pandan and jasmine green tea, mixed with evaporated milk and finished with a kaya-spiked foam and kaya butter sprinkle.

Once you’re done with your meal, check out the vinyl listening stations—simply sign up to be a Swee Lee Rewards member to listen for free!
