June seems to be the month of exciting food fairs and dining promotions, what with Gastrobeats 2024, Woodlands MRT food street and more. Another addition to this list of events is Takashimaya Food Fiesta, back from now till 1 July 2024!
There are over 55 stalls to check out, ranging from Korean street food and local delights to Japanese noodles and snacks.
You can expect a variety of sweet and savoury treats, such as the Japan-famous Marumami mochi. For $10, you can choose any three flavours from their wide range, including Green Tea, Sweet Potato, and Custard!
These mochi desserts have a slightly chewy texture, but what sets them apart is their generous filling. The pancakes are also not too sweet, which make them a must-try at the fair.Â
Crowd-favourite Sugar Belly pon-de-ring mochi doughnuts will also be available there. They’re offering a selection of their most popular flavours, such as Cinnamon, Lotus Biscoff, and Pocky Strawberry, to name a few. They also have an event-exclusive for those who prefer savoury food: Mala Cheese!
These deliciously chewy doughnuts, priced at $6 each are said to be crispy on the outside, with a QQ texture within! The Mala Cheese flavour is a definite must-try—it has a subtle mala taste, perfect for those who have a low spice tolerance.Â
For something savoury, try No Time Anyhow ($9.80). You can choose between mala or tomato soup, and each bowl comes with pork balls, tau pok, fish balls, quail eggs, carrots, black fungus, and broccoli.Â
Quench your thirst with Wake The Crew’s Iced Matcha Latte ($7). If you’re not a fan of matcha, opt for their signature Honey Cinnamon Milk ($6), which is said to be highly refreshing!
The street food fiesta will be happening till 1 July at Takashimaya Square, B2. Head down before it’s too late!
