Joining the likes of Joy Luck Teahouse, Hong Kong-based TamJai SamGor has now hit our shores. Previously only available in Hong Kong, the rice noodle store will be opening at Bedok Mall on 30 October 2020 — lucky for Easties and fans of the chain alike.
If you’re unfamiliar with TamJai SamGor, they are a rice noodle eatery well-known in Hong Kong for their spicy Yunnan rice noodles. The broth for this signature dish comes in 10 levels of spiciness. These different levels range from Non-Spicy to Extra Spicy so you can still enjoy your piquant bowl of noodles with a friend who doesn’t take heat that well.

The order process will go something like this: you start by choosing from a variety of toppings such as Pork Belly, Premium Beef Slices and more, to go with your noodles. Then, pick your soup base among choices such as Ma La Soup and Tangy Tomato Soup. Lastly, select your preferred spice level. If you’re an avid suan la fen lover, try the Suan La Soup. However, do note that the spice level for this Suan La Soup cannot be customised.

In celebration of their grand opening, TamJai SamGor will also be giving out 300 free bowls of noodles. These free noodles are available at selected time slots, with the first 100 bowls up for grabs on 30 October 2020 from 5pm to 7pm. The next 100 free bowls will be available on 31 October 2020 from 3pm to 5pm and the last 100 on 1 November 2020 from 3pm to 5pm.
Simply follow TamJai SamGor’s Facebook page and snatch one of the first 100 queue numbers within the time slot to get your piping hot bowl of noodles absolutely free. It’s also worth noting that this freebie will only be applicable to dine-in customers.
For more new eateries to look out for, check out Tempura Tendon Tenya and Flipper’s. Both are set to open later this year in October and November respectively.
