Tea aficionados, take note: there’s a hidden tea house along Neil Road that’s been serving up quality Asian teas since 1989. Located in a conserved three-storey shophouse in Chinatown, Tea Chapter houses a wide selection of tea, including premium pu’er, oolong, and more.

Step inside the spacious tea house and you’ll be welcomed with a charming and cosy setup that’s perfect for tea appreciation. The Oriental Room, shown in the photo above, is a blast from the past. There are other seating options for you to consider, including Korean- and Japanese-style dining areas.

The dine-in tea menu is rather extensive, with premium options spanning across oolong, white tea, green tea, and floral tea types. Prices are fairly steep, from $18+ for the Golden Cassia Oolong Tea, but the quality of each brew is said to be top-notch.
If you’d like to further develop your interest, check out their tea appreciation workshop that’s priced from $48+ per person. A minimum of two people is required for each session.

Pair your cuppa with Tea Chapter’s assortment of tea-infused cookies. There’s the Chapter 7 Cookies ($5 for seven pieces), featuring seven cookie flavours specially curated for the tea offerings here.
There’s also the Oolong Sweet Potato ($5), an interesting snack comprising earthy sweet potato steamed with fragrant oolong tea leaves.

Mochi fans should try the dainty Dragon Rice Balls ($5 for six pieces). These are dried glutinous rice balls dusted with peanut powder and coconut powder, and are meant to complement the drinks at Tea Chapter.
