You Can Get Thai-Style Crepes With Egg Floss Nutella And More At This New CBD Kiosk

The Crispy Crepes has Thai-style crepes at Marina Bay Link Mall

When it came to my knowledge that there was a new kiosk in the basement of Marina Bay Link Mall offering Thai-style crepes, I knew I had to head down ASAP, since I’m a huge crepe fan. The Crispy Crepes is a takeaway kiosk with a lovely variety of desserts, drinks, and breakfast choices in the heart of the CBD. And even better, every item on the menu is priced under $10!

We got there slightly after 12pm, right when the lunch crowd thickened. As we were queuing, there was already a handful of customers waiting for their crepes to be served. For those tight on time, worry not—we managed to get our goods in less than 10 minutes. 

My colleague and I were drawn to their menu thanks to the adorable illustrations, but what really caught my attention was their Thai-style crepe selection. I was torn between the Red Floss ($7.50) and Golden Floss ($6.50), and after some thought, I decided to get the latter. 

This interesting crepe comprised a generous spread of Nutella, sliced bananas, and of course, the key ingredient: sweet egg floss. I found the egg floss texture to be quite similar to grated coconut, and thought it paired well with the otherwise smooth and slightly mushy textures of the Nutella and banana slices. Flavour-wise, the egg floss didn’t have a distinct taste—it just added some sweetness to the crepe.

Besides the Golden Floss, we also got the Ham & Cheese ($7.50) to try. In case you were wondering, they serve up nine sweet crepes and six savoury crepes here!

This savoury number consisted of cheddar and mozzarella cheese, along with a good amount of chopped ham. There wasn’t anything to shout about, but it had a nice balance of flavours—you can’t go wrong with a ham and cheese combination after all.

Thai-style crepes aren’t the only Thai-inspired items on the menu. They also offer the classic Mango Sticky Rice ($6.50) and Coconut Rice Mini Pancakes ($5.50), which we think will taste best when accompanied by their Thai Milk Coffee ($4.50) or Thai Iced Milk Tea ($4.50).
