Food and my bank account are mortal enemies. As much as my wallet protests, I can’t resist restaurants that serve #foodporn dishes featuring the likes of gooey, stretchy cheese, sizzling meats, and decadent desserts. But each time I visit these places, I leave feeling a little guilty.
This year, the guilt has faded and I managed to check quite a few restaurants off my list of places to visit thanks to The Entertainer, which is a smartphone app that offers one-for-one deals at partner restaurants, bars and other entertainment facilities. The aunty in me says I need to make the most out of my subscription fee, so here are the one-for-one deals that let users – including me and you – make the most out of their money.
As if one-for-one deals on mains aren’t attractive enough, some restaurants on the app offer one-for-one entry to buffets. Senso Ristorante & Bar does this for their Sunday Prosecco Brunch ($99++ with free flow Prosecco, wine, beer, soft drink, coffee and tea). You can look forward to a spread of seafood including smoked salmon and fresh oysters, as well as Italian classics such as cheeses and pasta.

Bedrock Bar & Grill should be on any steak lover’s bucket list. It’s hard to go wrong with any option on the menu, but Bedrock Pepper Steak ($89++ for 300g NY steak) stands out. It uses cap of ribeye, a rare and prized cut, giving the steak the flavour of ribeye combined with the succulence of a tenderloin cut. Another favourite is USDA Prime Dry-Aged Beef Ribeye ($99++ for 300g) for its rich flavour and juicy bite.
