US Pizza: Popular Malaysian Chain Opens In Bedok With IG-Worthy Cheese Boat Pizza And More

Malaysia’s US Pizza opens in Singapore with cheese boat pizza and more

Pizza seems to be the next big thing in Singapore’s food scene. From the recent arrival of Beyond the Dough, a new Tokyo-Neopolitan pizzeria in Bugis, to takeaway-only kiosk Now Pizza, we’re spoilt for choice these days. Now, there’s another new contender on the market: US Pizza, a popular Malaysian chain that’s just opened its first outlet in Singapore!

The casual eatery is three bus stops away from Bedok North MRT Station. It sits under a HDB block, and offers limited indoor and outdoor seats.

Founded in Penang in 1997, the pizzeria now boasts over 100 outlets across Malaysia. They’re most known for their Cheese Boat Pizza, inspired by the Adjaruli Khachapuri AKA Georgian cheese bread. You’ll find this at the new Bedok branch, priced at $21.90.

The savoury pie features layers of thin pizza dough filled with copious amounts of cheese, topped with an egg in the middle. To enjoy, simply break into the yolk and mix everything to get the mandatory cheese pull shot.

There is also a subtle hint of garlic amongst all the cheesy goodness, resulting in a savoury flavour. However, we found this combination to be slightly too salty for our liking, and it was hard for us to enjoy. Nonetheless, if you’re a cheese lover, this is right up your alley!

There’s also a unique Salted Egg Pizza ($21.90), which comes with salted egg yolk bits atop squid, shrimp, curry leaves, and chilli.

I appreciated how the salted egg flavour was just right; it was not overpowering, yet the taste was prominent enough. I liked how this pizza also had different textures, such as the crunchiness of the chilli, to prevent it from being too jelak.

Besides these special edition pizzas, US Pizza also has traditional flavours, such as the Aloha Pizza and Spicy Chicken Deluxe. Prices start at $9.90 for both. Otherwise, they also have signature options including the Macho Meat Lover and Sumo Seafood, with prices starting at $10.90.

While you can get the pizzas fresh from the Bedok outlet, they’re also available for delivery islandwide, via their online ordering site!
