Waffle Aunty Opens In Kovan With “Smiling” Egglets, Trendy Coin Pancakes And More

Waffle Aunty opens in Kovan with smiling egglets and more

If you live in Pasir Ris, you may be familiar with Waffle Aunty, a snack kiosk at Elias Mall selling trendy coin pancakes, cute egglets and more. Good news: they’ve just opened a second outlet in Kovan, along Yio Chu Kang Road!

Waffle Aunty started out as a humble home-based business, before opening their first brick-and-mortar kiosk in Pasir Ris. They’re probably most known for their Smiling Egglettes, which come in over 10 flavours and are served in cute little egg “cartons”.

These freshly baked treats are similar to pancakes, so they’re best enjoyed warm. The cheapest one is the Plain, which goes for $1.50 each or $8 for a box of six, followed by classic flavours such as Kaya (from $2) and Red Bean (from $2).

If you don’t mind splurging, try their famous Nian Gao egglet, priced at $2.50 each or $12 for six! These cute egglets come with a sweet, mochi-like nian gao middle.

You’ll also find the viral Korean coin pancakes here with a localised spin. These coin-shaped pancakes are called Huat Cake: they come with a “發” embossing, translating to “huat”. Priced at $5 each, the pancakes are available in flavours such as Biscoff, Black Sesame, Cheese, Choco Banana, and Nian Gao.

While you’re there, try their Mini Temptations Waffles, starring petite waffles in flavours such as Classic Vanilla (from $2), Hae Bee Hiam (from $3) and Cheese ($3).

They also have a Double Chocolate (from $3) and Choco Reese Peanut (from $3) waffles if you’re craving a sweet treat!

If you’re planning to drop by, keep your eyes peeled on their Instagram page for the latest updates.

While you’re there, check out Myungdong K-Food, another hidden gem eatery in the vicinity. Otherwise, read our guide to the best Kovan food places to check out for more options in the area!
