Get Coriander Bao And XL Meat Bao At This New Halal Dim Sum Stall

Warung Dimsum has coriander bao and more in Yishun

The herbaceous coriander is one of those love-it-or-hate-it ingredients you either painstakingly pick out of your food or happily accept from a coriander-hating friend. If you belong to the latter, then you’re in luck. The newly opened Warung Dimsum at Kedai Kopi in Yishun now offers its signature halal-friendly Coriander Chicken Pau ($5.50)!

The Coriander Chicken Pau is handmade in-house, along with their other artisanal bao. We even caught a glimpse of the process during our visit.

Fresh out of the steamer, the bao was soft and fluffy, generously stuffed with juicy minced chicken and aromatic coriander shreds.

The coriander didn’t overwhelm, adding a refreshing lift to complement the savoury chicken filling. So even if you aren’t the biggest coriander fan, this one might just win you over!

They also serve up other unique handmade bao here, such as their palm-sized Premium Jumbo Nury Pau ($8), which comes packed with a plethora of ingredients: hard-boiled egg, salted egg yolk, char siew chicken, prawn, minced beef, shitake mushroom, and even abalone. From the sweet-savoury char siew to the earthy umami of the mushroom and abalone, this bao was packed with flavours and textures.

For something smaller, get the Pau Kambing Berlada ($5.50), filled with a peppery mutton centre that’s uncommon in Singapore. If you normally avoid mutton because of its gaminess, not to worry, as the meat here was well-spiced and had no strong gamey aftertaste.

Try their Classic Selection of dim sum too, which includes Golden Lava Custard Bun, Seafood Crab Claw, Sea Urchin Seafood Ball and more. The aforementioned items are priced at $3 for two pieces each. Our favourite was the custard bun, which oozed a rich, sweet-salty custard filling with every bite!

Warung Dimsum is a nine-minute walk away from Yishun MRT Station. We recommend visiting earlier, as they are said to attract quite a crowd during peak hours.
