From collaborating with Cinnamoroll to Sesame Street, Kumoya Cafe is no stranger to themed pop-up cafes. To kick start 2020, this Japanese-French inspired cafe at Bugis will be transformed to a We Bare Bears cafe. Have fun snapping up photos of the kawaii bear brothers from 4 January to 12 April 2020.Â
True to the We Bare Bears theme, the exciting menu echoes influences from the popular Cartoon Network animation. Collaborating with award-winning food blogger, @littlemissbento, the showcased dishes look cute and taste good. Plus, hardcore fans can shop from the cafe’s range of specially imported We Bare Bears merchandise.Â
Whet your appetite with small bites such as Special We Bare Bears Baos with Sweet Matcha ($11.90+). These adorable matcha-filled buns are complete with the bear brothers’ signature faces. You’ll get to take home a free limited-edition tent card which comes with each order. They also offer typical cafe fare including Kumoya’s special Hand-Cut Truffle Fries ($13.90+) which are made with parmesan cheese and infused with premium truffle oil. Take this earthy flavour up a notch with their house-made truffle mayo dip.
Fill up on hearty mains such as Ice Bear Terrific Teriyaki Chicken Katsu Burger ($23.90+). This deep-fried chicken burger comes with a fresh garden salad, crispy french fries and We Bare Bears mantou.
Have fun with interactive desserts including Knock-knock Ice Bear Chocolate Ball of Fun ($23.90+). Its name speaks for itself as you use a wooden hammer to break open the white chocolate dome to dig into a sweet mix of hidden treats, such as marshmallows, house-made brownies, and fruits. This decadent dessert is complete with a scoop of milky Hokkaido soft serve.
Each drink order comes with an exclusive We Bare Bears coaster. Visit in groups of four and snag up all four of these limited-edition coasters. Chill out with the totally adorable Mango Tango Frappe with Ice Bear Marshmallow ($13.90+) which is served with a limited-edition cup sleeve.
Too Cool Hot Latte ($10.90+) is great for those who need their daily caffeine fix. This aromatic cuppa joe features a premium blend of UCC Japanese beans, topped with baby-blue-coloured fresh cream, pastel sprinkles and a rainbow wafer. By the way, you can bring home this limited-edition Ice Bear mug by just topping up $11.90+!
Don’t get too caught up with snapping photos of the cafe as there is a 90-minute time limit to your visit. If you’re coming in big groups, make sure to have a minimum order of one food or drink item per person. Have a go with their claw machine and you might walk away with your own We Bare Bear plushie.
