If youā€™re keen to explore plant-based dining but donā€™t know where to start, Whole Earth is the place for you. Established in 2003, Whole Earth is Singaporeā€™s first and only Peranakan-Thai plant-based restaurant. Their meatless offerings have earned them the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which they have held every year since 2016ā”thatā€™s no easy feat! You can find them conveniently located just a stoneā€™s throw away from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station.

Start with a perennial classic, Thai Sweet and Sour Delight ($19++). This dish features deep-fried soya-based ā€œmeatā€ and pineapples, stir-fried in a refreshing tangy sauce. The ā€œmeatā€ is described as having a crisp exterior and a chewy texture thatā€™s similar to pork.Ā

A standout dish is their Crispy Golden Oats ($18++), which boasts a flavourful cereal toppingĀ  enhanced with aromatic curry leaves and chilli padi. Many reviewers like this dish for the tofuā€™s crispy exterior paired with its silky-smooth insides.

For a nourishing option, a must-order is the bestselling Enchanted Forest ($25++), featuring Monkey Head mushroom, which is said to help boost your immunity, and broccoli topped with wolfberries, generously blanketed in a dang gui gravy.Ā

Donā€™t miss out on the rich and creamy Penang Rendang ($23++), a crowd favourite that comes highly recommended. This dish comprises shiitake mushrooms slow-cooked with Peranakan-style dry curry.

If your meal isnā€™t complete without rice, pair your dishes with Whole Earthā€™s Signature Olive Rice ($10++/$15++), where you can even opt for a brown rice alternative with a top up of $1++. For those craving something spicier, the Signature X.O. Rice ($14++/$20++) and Thai Tom Yam Rice ($10++/$15++) are great options too.
