Get $2 Dishes At Xin Tekka When You Bring Your Own Egg

Xin Tekka food hall is located in the newly opened Tekka Place mall, residing in the heart of Little India. In celebration of Singapore’s 55th birthday, they will be having a ‘Bring Your Own Egg’ promotion between 1 and 9 August 2020, where you can enjoy a slew of delicious food from just $2.

With the help of eggs, this interesting event at the swanky food hall aims to revive the kampung spirit. This much-missed neighbourly cheer will be represented by the generous acts of food stall owners giving customers a discount if they bring their own eggs—just like they did in the past.

Warm your heart with Liang Ji’s $2 char kway teow which comes in a wet version, with cockles, lap cheong, fish cakes, and tons of wok hei. Alternatively, clumsy folks who foresee themselves breaking their eggs can also participate in this event without one, and pay $2.50 for each dish instead.

Other participating stalls at Xin Tekka include Pang’s Hakka Noodle, which will only have 100 portions of Hakka Noodles sold at $2 every day. For those who didn’t know, Chef Pang is the man behind the now-defunct Antoinette cafe which won the hearts of many cafe hoppers like myself. He has now moved on to paying tribute to his Hakka roots with dishes such as Hakka Fried Wings, Yong Tau Foo Soup and more.

If you’re looking for something light instead, there will also be a $2 Gado Gado from Alhambra Satay, $2 Sausage & Egg Apam Babik from Da Boomz Delights, and $2 Kopi and Youtiao from Morning Boss as well. Some of these dishes have limited portions a day, so make sure to come early lest you want to head home with only your raw eggs in hand.
